Hello lybrate-user, thanks for your query. Anal fissure is a painful and often recurring problem. An examination needs to be done to assess status and tightness of the sphincter and accordingly medications will be prescribed, if it is too tight than you might as well go for surgery. As of now you may start by increasing intake of salads and green leafy vegetables so that your stool remains soft, you may also take sitz bath by sitting in a tub filled with lukewarm water which will help in relieving pain.
