About Montek AB Tablet SR

Montek AB Tablet SR, a xanthine derivative, is prescribed as a bronchodilator for the treatment of asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, tightness in chest, lungs inflammation, and other conditions.

It is also used when a patient feels difficulty in breathing. Montek AB Tablet SR regulates surfactant production by reducing the bronchial obstruction. It also works as an anti-inflammatory compound.

On using Montek AB Tablet SR, side-effects are possible but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, drowsiness, heartburn, shortness of breath, esophageal obstruction, airway inflammation, increased white blood cell count, rashes, and diarrhoea are some side effects. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.

The usual dosage for Montek AB Tablet SR in adults is 100mg, administered twice daily. It is preferably taken after meals. In case you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose then you can skip the missed dose. Contact your doctor if you suspect an overdose with this medicine.

Take every evening on a continuous basis; do not discontinue even if feeling better (this medication may help reduce the incidence of acute attacks). You may experience mild headache (mild analgesic may help); fatigue or dizziness (use caution when driving).
