Symptoms Of Hernia

Person may feel pain while lifting or bending something due to formation of lump in abdomen area, commonly known as Hernia. If a person is having inguinal hernia, he will definitely experience pain while coughing, bending or lifting because a lump or bulge is formed in his lower abdomen area near to groin. Along with pain, a person also encounters symptoms like a burning or aching sensation, a sense of pressure in the abdomen region.
Feeling Full
The abdominal walls of a person may become weak due to aging, genetic defects, obesity, injuries to abdominal areas; surgical incisions etc. and may develops a hernia which looks like a lump or bulge beneath the skin. Because of such conditions, the affected area of intestine gets trapped and a person may complain about feeling bloated or full and being constipated due to blockage of bowel. Under such circumstances, the symptoms developed further rapidly and show heaviness in abdomen region.
Weakness of Muscles
Weakness of muscles of abdominal wall or region is commonly associated with a medical condition called as hernia. In such disorder, weakened or tore muscles of abdominal area which normally holds the internal organs and inner linings of abdomen at place are affected. Due to this defect in abdomen region, the inner linings of abdomen are protruding and forming a pouch that can be seen easily and needs to be treated if shows pain during lifting, fever, heaviness like symptoms.
Nausea or Vomitting
A strangulated hernia may be present at time of birth or may be developed in any stages of life in which a portion of the intestine becomes so firmly wedged against the abdominal wall that it cuts off the blood supply. This type of hernia is accompanied by severe pain, nausea, vomiting and constipation, and could be life-threatening. A person should seek immediate medical attention if you experience these types of intense symptoms.
Fever
Fever like symptom is associated with irreducible hernia or strangulated hernia where small intestine pushes a fatty tissue or a section through the weekend area of the abdominal muscles that fixes around the tissue and cut of the blood supply to the small intestine. If a person has symptoms like acute pain coming suddenly and getting severe, fever, bloody stools, darkening or reddening of the skin over the hernia, inability to pass gas, etc., then it can be strangulated hernia and it is a life-threatening condition seeking immediate medical attention.
Constipation
Constipation is considered as a basic cause that makes abdominal walls weak and cause straining in a person. A person suffering from constipation is at higher risk of developing hernia because he is increasing pressure on his belly muscles for passing the stool. In constipated condition, patient has a less or no movement of bowel due to less supply of water or peristalsis movement and it keep a person at higher risk of development of lump or bulge known as hernia. For such patients, high fiber food intake is advised to reduce risk of occurrence of hernia.
Heartburn
A person can be diagnosed as a patient of Hiatal hernia when he experiences frequent heartburn, indigestion and regurgitation like symptoms. This all symptoms are indicators of a hiatal hernia because in this type of hernia, the upper stomach bulges through the large muscle called as hiatus that separates abdomen and chest. This type of hernia occurs when part of the stomach protrudes up through the diaphragm and stomach acids leak into the esophagus.
