I want to know that after rootcanal my teeth were broken & filling come out. Can i refill it again?

BDS, MDS Prosthodontics
Dentist, Mumbai
It depends on degree of tooth breakage and from which level it has broken. Many times a post and core (pin in root canal) can restore the tooth followed by a cap on the tooth.

•A change in taste may result from dehydration, glossitis, a dry mouth, allergies, salivary glands infections, lack of zinc and vitamin B12, and polyps in the nose. •Others include breathing through the mouth, inflamed upper airways, and autoimmune diseases like Sjogren's syndrome and Bell's palsy. •Some injuries and traumas that cause a bitter taste include head, nerve, mouth and nose injuries, and biting your tongue. •Dental appliances such as braces, any surgery on your ear, nose, teeth or throat, and radiation therapy on your neck or head cause a bitter taste in mouth. •Gargle with water. Brush your teeth, tongue, roof of your mouth, and gums using toothpaste. Rinse your mouth with mouthwash. Drink liquids, chew sugar-free gum or mints, or suck on sour candies. Use plastic utensils if you have taste alteration when eating.

Kindly consult an oral & maxillofacial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray, tmj open & closed mouth, mri) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Until then have soft diet. Avoid yawning. Replace posterior teeth if they are missing. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. There are some simple measures that can help tmj problems, such as a change to a soft diet, jaw muscle exercises in exceptional cases a specialist dentist, known as a maxillo-facial surgeon, may be required to perform surgery on the tmj.

Hello. I have been suffering from TMJ disorder since 2 months. Will it cured? Is there any option for manual therapy ...
Hi. TMJ disorder can be cured in a few weeks to months. But sometimes it can take years to be cured. You can do a few exercises as a remedy. The most possible way out is 1. Be stressfree. Do meditation 2. Icing of the affected area 3. Warm towels over the affected area 4. Place the tip of your tongue on the palate. Open your mouth as wide as you comfortably can, and hold for 5-10 seconds. 4. Avoid eating hard food stuffs. 5. Avoid opening your mouth wide while yawning 6. Use of mouth gaurds.

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. Advise get an X-Ray done and connect with the report for further naturopathic traction. Sometimes joint pain is seen, especially at the temperomandibular joint and can be alleviated with natural medicines suitably. For the time being, suggest avoid biting any kind of hard food stuff including chocolates, nuts, meat etc all as it is likely to aggravate the pain/ condition. A little bit of cold application, externally, can help lessen swelling, if any. Stay well hydrated, and keep your diet and lifestyle streamlined. Do take care, and all the very best. Sincerely,

bad breath is associated with either intraoral or extraoral causes.... Deep carious lesions (dental decay) – which cause localized food impaction and stagnation Recent dental extraction sockets – fill with blood clot, and provide an ideal habitat for bacterial proliferation Interdental food packing – (food getting pushed down between teeth) - this can be caused by missing teeth, tilted, spaced or crowded teeth, or poorly contoured approximal dental fillings. Food debris becomes trapped, undergoes slow bacterial putrefaction and release of malodorous volatiles. Food packing can also cause a localized periodontal reaction, characterized by dental pain that is relieved by cleaning the area of food packing with interdental brush or floss. Acrylic dentures (plastic false teeth) – inadequate denture hygiene practises such as failing to clean and remove the prosthesis each night, may cause a malodour from the plastic itself or from the mouth as microbiota responds to the altered environment. The plastic is actually porous, and the fitting surface is usually irregular, sculpted to fit the edentulous oral anatomy. These factors predispose to bacterial and yeast retention, which is accompanied by a typical smell. Oral infections Oral ulceration Fasting Stress/anxiety Menstrual cycle – at mid cycle and during menstruation, increased breath VSC were reported in women. Smoking – Smoking is linked with periodontal disease, which is the second most common cause of oral malodor. Smoking also has many other negative effects on the mouth, from increased rates of dental decay to premalignant lesions and even oral cancer. Alcohol Volatile foodstuffs – e.g. onion, garlic, durian, cabbage, cauliflower and radish. Volatile foodstuffs may leave malodorous residues in the mouth, which are the subject to bacterial putrefaction and VSC release. However, volatile foodstuffs may also cause halitoisis via the blood borne halitosis mechanism. Medication – often medications can cause xerostomia (dry mouth) which results in increased microbial growth in the mouth.
