Mr. Lybrate-user, from the thyroid test results, it is clear she does not have any problem with that gland. Alopecia areata is a condition which a dermatologist should be able to help out. Also look at her cbc (total blood cell count), to see if she has anemia. You may give vitamin d 3 supplement. Also give zinc supplement. Some times zinc deficiency also leads to hair loss. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. TSH 9.6 mU/L, is high, but falls in subclinical stage. No treatment is advocated at that level, unless one has sever or unpleasant symptoms associated with hypothyroidism. Please tell me why was the test done? Thanks.

Deficiency of thyroxine hormone leading to sluggishness, tired feeling, weight increase, slow heart beats, intolerance to cold, swelling of legs, feet and face, difficulty in concentrating and at times in speech. Some Relax during work.go walk daily.avoid oily foods, junk foods. Do Tests T3,T4,TSH EVERY 3 TO 6 MONTHS. Take plenty of water, high-carbohydrate foods such as potatoes, rice, pasta and bread. Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. flax oil, Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. ’m a 28years old male that was diagnosed with a partial ACL tear in my right knee. I’ve been living with it for 4 years. I’m not nearly as strong lifting or explosive jumping and running and my knee feels tight and weak for days after heavy sports or leg workouts, although it does’t buckle. What would be your thoughts on my situation? Grade || signal intensity in body and posterior horn of the medical meniscus, suggestive of tear. Medical serpiginous low signal intensity lesions on T1 W with central hyperintense signal on T2 W images involving medical and lateral femoral, lower 1/3 shaft of femur likely to represent bony infarcts. Small osteochondral defect with partial loss articular cartilage at lateral femoral condale. Minimal joint effusion Uric acid also high side (end line) 7.1. Thanks.

Partial acl tear usually do not need surgery. Moreover you symptoms are not due to ligament insufficiency. Partial articular cartilage defects are left as such. Grade 2 signal in meniscus are usually not symptomatic. It may not be wise to suggest anything without clinical examination and mri films, but as per your symptoms and mri report, I think you should focus on quadriceps and hamstring strengthening exercises. Any surgery is less likely to improve your symptoms.

Hi,

This is Dr. Pradnya Mulay. I am a homeopath. I practice at Kharghar Navi Mumbai.

Today I am going to talk about thyroid disorders and its homeopathic management. Thyroid is one of the most important organs I the body. It is an endocrine gland. It is placed in front of the neck below Adams apple. This gland regulates various metabolic processes, metabolic rate, blood sugar level, blood calcium level, growth rate. Its mechanism is regulated by a feedback mechanism. Pituitary gland and hypothalamus gland in brain control the thyroid gland. So disorder of these two can also cause the disorders of thyroid gland. Hypothyroidism, this is a condition where there is insufficient production of thyroid hormones because of this patient experiences fatigue, mentally being foggy, concertation difficult, muscular and joint pain, fluid retention, constipation, dry skin various menstrual disorders and a prominent symptom being wright gain. Hyperthyroidism thyroids is excessive production of thyroid hormones because of which there is an increase in metabolic rate. Patient complains of tremors, fatigue, and palpitations that is fast heartbeat, nervousness, increased bowel movements, sweating, poor concentration and the standout symptom being un-intentional weight loss. We diagnose thyroid function disorders with thyroid function test. In some cases sonography and epilepsy is advised if the swelling is present. In most of the cases thyroid can be well managed with the medicine and not a life threatening disease but some may need surgery. Homeopathy aims to deal with the root cause of the disease. It stimulates the natural capabilities of the body. Some common medicine are Fucus Vesiculosus, it stimulates the production of thyroid hormones there by controls the metabolic rate. Lycopus, in case hyperthyroidism this remedy never fails. Calcarea Carb this remedy suited for the case of hypothyroidism where patient complains of constipation along with sweating on head. Sepia if she is weak, pale, yellow faced, she is chilly in warm room, and she has so many menstrual complains, menses too early to profuse. Lycopodia, for hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism with gastric bubbles, yellow face, blue rings around the eyes, patient often is irritable. Graphites, super for the patients of hypothyroidism with constipation, patient is sad, timid, and weepy. These are some indications of homeopathy for thyroid disorder.

Hi lybrate-user tips for weight loss eat fresh vegetables daily. Avoid having sugar completely. Eat whole wheat bread instead of white bread; avoid everything made from white flour and make whole wheat bread, chapattis and brown rice a way of life. Do not skip a meal and eat three meals a day. Drink plenty of water to eliminate the toxins from the system. Limit your fat intake to 2-3 teaspoons a day. Increase the fiber intake as it provides a sense of fullness and also prevents hunger pangs. Take antioxidants for protecting the body against the toxins released during weight loss. Exercise catalyzes your efforts to lose weight and even regular walking for thirty minutes can give you the benefits of an aerobics exercise. To improve the metabolism, try increasing the duration, frequency, intensity of your daily workout. Remember that maintaining the ideal weight is a lifetime commitment and not a short-term affair. Firmly believe that the pleasure of being trim and healthy is far better than the pleasure of eating unwisely.
