Hello Mr. Lybrate user Migraine headache is the worst kind of chronic headache. Migraine headache can be defined as severe pounding or pulsing headache that generally starts in the forehead and moves usually towards one side of the head (left side or right side headache) and around the eyes. Migraines, most of the times, attack with warnings or painful symptoms including nausea, vertigo, facial flushing, nasal congestion and dizziness. Acc to Ayurveda this condition is referred as ‘Sooryavarta’. Soorya means ‘Sun’ and avarta means ‘affliction’ or ‘blockage’. The headache gets worsened on sunrise, peaks during noon hours and reduces after evening. Even though this is the typical feature of this illness, it may not be true in all cases. Symptoms may vary based on body prakriti and food habits. Causes acc yo Ayurveda Suppression of natural urges Indigestion Intake of stale food Prolonged exposure to sunlight Oily and spicy food Anger, jealousy, grief, stress etc Intake of dry, pungent and salty food etc Alcohol or smoking Changes in hormone levels during a woman’s menstrual cycle or with the use of birth control pills Changes in sleep patterns – excess sleep or less sleep Exercise or other physical stress Excessive stimulation or stress on sense organs by loud noises, bright lights, strong perfumes / odours, Fasting Stress and anxiety Symptoms Moderate to severe, throbbing headache- right side or left side of the head. Seizures have some causes behind like epileptic, like any cyst or tumor in brain, depression etc, you should consult with a neurologist for this purpose, need a CT scan brain, to rule out the cause.

I am experiencing tingling and numbness in hands and legs, what may be the reason.

I am experiencing tingling and numbness in hands and legs, what may be the reason.
Hi Lybrate user! Tingling in the hands and feet is often associated with other symptoms like pain, burning, or numbness in the hands and feet. These type of sensations commonly reflect damage to the nerves in the area (neuropathy); because these are peripheral areas of the body, the term peripheral neuropathy is used to refer to this type of symptom. Peripheral neuropathy has a number of causes and varies in severity among affected people. Vitamin deficiency, diabetes, and kidney failure are among the medical causes of tingling in the hands and feet due to nerve damage.

Hello lybrate user, sciatica is a radiating pain along the course of the nerve. Usually for the lower back to the back of thigh and then further down to the foot. This happens because of a compression on the nerve roots which leads to symptoms of tingling and numbness in your feet, and other functional deficits the nerves like sensory loss and weakness in the limbs. When this pressure of the nerves is accompanied by inflammation of nerve itself, it gives rise to the radiating pain or sciatica. This inflammation comes down with anti inflammatory drugs and rest, so the sciatica is no longer present but compression on the nerves remains so you might still be having sensory loss. But still your nerve might be recovering from the compression and you regain sensation with neurotonic drugs and time if the compression has also been resolved. But this decision making is complex and can be done by a spine surgeon and only after a thorough clinical assessment. I would suggest you get an mri done and consult a spine surgeon as soon as possible. Hope this helps.

Sir my brain is very paining in night when I am going to sleeping night. Any esrly morning. Please solve my problem.

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Few things related to headache so that we can plan the treatment accordingly - if pain is associated with blurred or decreased vision than check your eye sight for refractive error - if the pain is associated with cold and fever than we have to rule out sinusitis as the cause and if the pain is pulsatile in nature and with a throbbing pain usually with an aura than we have to rule out migrane as the cause - if the pain is associated with neck problems than we have to rule out cervical spondylosis as the cause - if the pain is associated with either low or high bp or due to hyperacidity than we have to treat the cause after examination.

My grandfather got paralysis a year ago and past few days he got pits. Why is this happening. His left cerebrum was dried. No other diseases.

Fits can be due to many resons. Most common in this kind of case senarios are. Low sodium or glucose, rarely it can be another episod of stroke. Fits can also occur because the'dried' or dead cerebral tissue acts as irritative focus. But this cause is common in early days post stroke.

I am 36 years old lady suffering with numbness in legs and these days in hands also.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

I am 36 years old lady suffering with numbness in legs and these days in hands also.
There are numerous conditions that can cause you to feel numbness and tingling. For example, an insect or animal bite, toxins found in seafood, a migraine headache, or radiation therapy can give you a feeling of pins and needles. An abnormal level of vitamin B-12, potassium, calcium or sodium is another potential cause. In some cases, feelings of numbness and tingling or burning can indicate a serious injury or medical condition. Seek urgent care if you just experienced a back, neck, or head injury or are unable to walk or move. Losing consciousness, even if only for a short time, is also a warning sign that you need medical attention.
