Help me sir.
You should get your teeth cleaned/ scaling done and use gum paint to massage gums, this will help to make your gums and hence root of teeth strong.

I have severe toothache and cavity in my tooth. One doctor has suggested me for tooth filling and another has said that filling cannot take place when pain has started. I am confused about my treatment and my pain is unbearable. please suggest some solution. Thank uh.

Good evening mam! First we should see the extension of your cavity, if it is less you can go for filling or else you can go for RCT (Root Canal Treatment) to save your tooth. Its better to consult a dentist nearby you. Thank you.

Dear Lybrate user need not to worry for any toth paste. U may use any toothpaste. Alll are equally gud nd effective toooo. Regards.

I want to know from a ortho dentist and gum specialist, that if a 18 to 20 year old child is gone through the braces and after an year during the procedure the gums starts swelling and increasing is part of procedure or is there any cure to be taken? Is there any chance to reduce the Gums by medicine? How risky and painful is gum surgery in this case? After Gum Surgery is it possible that the gums condition will solve for ever? The braces are still there and the ortho says its not possible for further treatment, Gum surgery is required and then he will again start the procedure.

Dear lybrate-user, inflammatory gum enlargement in response to braces is a well know fact. It often develops from poor hygiene maintenance during therapy. Gingivectomy (gum surgery) is a safe and the only option in cases of excessive gingival enlargement. The gums in extreme cases grow around the bracket and the wire both making treatment impossible. Please feel free to undergo the procedure under the hands of a skilled oral surgeon/periodontist. Hope you find this helpful.

Pain killers like ibuprofen and aspirin can be taken to lighten the inflammation or pain caused by the root canal treatment.

Why Do Dental Implants Costs Much?

Why Do Dental Implants Costs Much?

If you’ve ever had a tooth extracted, by accident or by a dentist, then you’ve probably looked into your tooth replacement options, including dental implants. There’s no question that implants are the best long term tooth replacement option, but the cost of the procedure can give some patients sticker shock. Many patients leave the office wondering why something as “simple” as a tooth replacement can cost so much.

What exactly are you paying for when you get an implant First, there’s the implant itself. Dental implants are made of a titanium post that’s screwed into your jaw bone and designed to simulate the form and function of your tooth’s natural roots. Titanium is a strong, lightweight, and long-lasting metal. When you think about something that’s going to be in your mouth for a number of years, strength and durability is key.

The last thing you want is to use a cheap material that won’t last a lifetime and requires replacement. The other part of a dental implant is a porcelain crown that sits on top of the post and resembles your original tooth. Crowns are custom made to fit in with the rest of your teeth. It will match the shape and color of your other teeth so it blends in as seamlessly when you smile. The final dental implant cost that many people overlook is that this is a surgical procedure. Even though it may not be performed in a hospital setting, there is years of training, knowledge, and experience that go into knowing exactly where to place the dental implant.

The dentist must drill into your jaw without hitting any of the major nerves and in a way that ensures that the implant integrates correctly with the jaw bone. This is a carefully planned and precise installation that may patients overlook. An implant that isn’t properly placed can fail to heal with your jaw or, worse case scenario, can result in pain, discomfort, headaches, or even lost feeling in parts of your face.Additional procedures may also be needed in order to install the implant and to make sure it lasts a lifetime.

Some common procedures include extraction of your original tooth and bone grafting.Long-Term Health Risks. Given these costs, it might be tempting to let your missing tooth go and not replace it with a dental implant. Doing this will cost much more over your lifetime.

I have holes (cavities) in my teeth and are very sensitive. I find difficulty in eating food. What is the remedy ? And what are its serious outcomes ?

You need to see a dentist urgently. Simple cavities can be treated with simple fillings. And if you wait for long you may have severe pain and need to under go root canal treatment or even extraction.
