She is suffering from severe dysmenorrhoea, which is very common. It should be treated initially with meftal spas (pain killer) tablets three times a day. Irregular menses for 2 months only does not need any kind of treatment. It can happen because of hormonal changes.

I am 50 years old. Should I take calcium tablets on a regular basis. Going through menopause. Please advice

Better to take calcium supplements as our diet is usually not adequately rich on calcium. Also take milk & milk products, Nagli, soybean,regular walk & exercise to help you go through menopause.

  1. Brushing :
  • Brush your teeth twice a day.
  • Night brushing is very important, because during sleep our mouth is at rest so there are more chances of accumulation of bacteria which cause further cavities and leads to disturbance in the oral cavity.
  •  Follow a proper brushing technique.

    2. Use a good fluoridated toothpaste with a right toothbrush. Toothpaste should have 1000ppm of fluoride and toothbrush should have a small and narrow head with soft bristles.

    3. Flossing :

  • Flossing helps to remove food stuck in between your teeth.
  • It can be done daily or 2-3 times a week.
  • Waxed dental flosses available in market are of Oral B, Colgate.

    4. Interdental Brush:

  • If the spaces between the teeth are wide, you can use an interdental brush.                                                                                                  

    5. Oral Irrigation:

  • Now-a-days, a new dental aid is added which helps to clean the teeth, interdental areas, inside the gums and below the crowns more easily.
  • It is also known as dental “Water flosser” or “Oral irrigator” available in brands like waterpik, panasonic etc. 

    6.  Drink plenty of water and rinse after every meal.  

    7. Clean your tongue surface daily.

    8. Pit and Fissure Sealants:

  • The grinding teeth in a person mouth erupt at 12-16 years of age. They have deep grooves and pits in which food gets stuck. A Sealant is applied to these teeth which makes the grooves shallow and prevents food and bacteria from getting into the teeth and causing decay

    9 .Whitening - Home Remedies :

  • Add a pinch of baking soda in drinking water and rinse twice a day.
  •  Consume strawberries once a day or crushed strawberries applied to teeth helps as teeth whitener.

    10.Visit your dentist every 6 months and get your scaling (cleaning) and polishing  done.

Strict exercise and diet with life style modification is the main treatment for pcos. And once you lose some weight your period will get regular.

Hello as you asked about your problems related to your irregular periods for theme days and once you got abortion. I would like to suggest you not to worry for these problems. It may be because of low hb or harmonic or metabolic imbalances. I would like to suggest you for getting all dietary measures and daily behaviours as well as yoga and exercise and morning walk every day. You may follow some regular use of soups of carrots and beetroots and green vegetables and moong daal soups fried with cumin seeds and ghee and garlic. You may use light diets and chapati or khichari and dariya with green vegetables and moong daal soups fried with cumin seeds and ghee and garlic. Warm milk boiled with ginger, haldi and nuts every day before going to bed and at breakfast. You should avoid oily or junk food and sour products e. G. Pickles etc. You may follow the following ayurveda medicines as given below. 1- rajah prawartini vati. 1 tab laxamana loh. 1 tab chandra prabha vati. 1 tab nirocil 2tabs togather with warm water after meals. 2- dashmularist 15 ml laxamanarist 15 ml togather with water twice daily after meals. If you feel better result then continue it for 3 to 6 months regular. If you feel discomfort then stop and consult me privately for your pulse diagnosis and proper treatment. You shouldn't worry or negative for getting pregnant. I helped more than thousands for getting pregnancy.

Polycystic ovary syndrome treatment generally focuses on management of your individual main concerns, such as infertility, hirsutism, acne or obesity. As a first step, I recommend weight loss through a low-calorie diet combined with moderate exercise activities. Low-fat, high-carbohydrate diets may increase insulin levels, so you may want to consider a low-carbohydrate diet if you have pcos as prescribed by a registered dietitian only. Don't severely restrict carbohydrates; instead, choose complex carbohydrates, which are high in fiber. The more fiber in a food, the more slowly it's digested and the more slowly your blood sugar levels rise. High-fiber carbohydrates include whole-grain breads and cereals, whole-wheat pasta, bulgur wheat, barley, brown rice, and beans. Limit less healthy, simple carbohydrates such as soda, excess fruit juice, cake, candy, ice cream, pies, cookies and doughnuts. Even a modest reduction in your weight for instance, losing 5 percent of your body weight might improve your condition I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. Hi i am 37 weeks pregnant n my usg showed that head circumference is 38 week and abdominal circumference is of 35 week and femur length is 36 weeks. M worried is this fine. Before this scan all my usg were normal and Nt scan was also normal and anomaly scan was also play kindly advice.

Hi lybrate-user Please accept my Congratulations these reports suggest that the baby growth parameters Head corresponding with your period of gestation Abdominal circumference is on lower side Femoral length is also slightly less but at 37 weeks into pregnancy we take the growth /- 3 weeks in which all these parameters are falling. If your doctor is satisfied then don't worry.

hi lybrate user please get a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy. if negative then it could be because of stress, hormonal imbalance. please get TSH done which is most common cause for delayed period.

You can examine your breasts in front of the mirror after removing restrictive clothing. Feel the painful portion between fingers and thumb of other hand by rolling the full breast thickness. If you feel any hard lump, pl meet your gynec. Compare with the other side for swelling, redness or shape. If you see anything abnormal, it will need checkup. Try wearing something loose for a day to see if it relieves the pain. Try hot compress.

Cholesterol is a waxy substance that's found in the fats in your blood. While your body needs cholesterol to continue building healthy cells, having high cholesterol can increase your risk of heart disease.
Cholesterol is carried through your blood, attached to proteins. This combination of proteins and cholesterol is called a lipoprotein. There are different types of Lipoprotein in your blood:
• Low-density lipoprotein (LDL). LDL, or "bad," cholesterol transports cholesterol particles throughout your body. LDL cholesterol builds up in the walls of your arteries, making them hard and narrow causing Atherosclerosis..
• Very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). This type of lipoprotein contains the most triglycerides, a type of fat, attached to the proteins in your blood. VLDL cholesterol makes LDL cholesterol larger in size, causing your blood vessels to narrow
• High-density lipoprotein (HDL). HDL, or "good," cholesterol picks up excess cholesterol and takes it back to your liver from where it is excreted.
How to know if you are at risk of High Cholestrol:
• Obesity. Having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or greater puts you at risk of high cholesterol.
• Large waist circumference. Your risk increases if you are a man with a waist circumference of at least 40 inches (102 centimeters) or a woman with a waist circumference of at least 35 inches (89 centimeters).
• Poor diet. Foods that are high in cholesterol, such as red meat, egg yolk, full-fat dairy products, trans fats, found in some commercially baked cookies, will increase your total cholesterol.
• Lack of exercise. Exercise helps boost your body's HDL "good" cholesterol while lowering your LDL "bad" cholesterol. Not getting enough exercise puts you at risk of high cholesterol.
• Diabetes. High blood sugar contributes to higher LDL cholesterol and lower HDL cholesterol. High blood sugar also damages the lining of your arteries.
• Smoking: Smoking damages the walls of your arteries and also decreases your good cholesterol.
Prevention:
1) Diet: Top foods to lower your cholesterol and protect your heart are:
a) Oats: Oats contain soluble fibre which decreases your LDL (Bad cholesterol)
b) Fatty Fish: Fish has no effect on LDL but eating fatty fish can be heart healthy because of its high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which can reduce your blood pressure and risk of developing blood clots ,thus preventing Heart attacks.
c) Flaxseed
d) Walnuts, almonds and other tree nuts can improve blood cholesterol. Rich in mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids, walnuts also help keep blood vessels healthy.
e) Cook in Monounsaturated fat — found in olive, peanut and canola oils .
f) Eat whole grain breads and whole fruits to add fibre to your diet.
2) Exercise: Brisk walk for 30-60 minutes daily.
3) Reduce your weight.
4) Limit your alcohol intake.
5) Quit smoking.
6) Follow a Mediterranean diet which is Heart healthy.
