Hello I hope this message finds you in good health. To prevent hair fall, you can follow some simple steps as listed below: 1. Use mild shampoo to wash hair (you can make your own shampoo using reetha and shikakai at home). 2. Stop using conditioners. Use natural conditioners like egg, yougurt and lemon. 3. Massage your scalp with a mix of oils like olive, coconut, sesame, castor oil at night. 4. Apply raw amla juice on hair thrice a week. 5. Rub your scalp with the juice of white onion. 6. Use a paste of bhringraj on hair.

Acne Can't Be Prevented or Cured, But It Can Be Treated Effectively. ... There's no way to prevent acne, there's no cure and today's over-the-counter remedies contain the same basic ingredients as those on drugstore shelves decades ago. And acne won't just go away: Not treating it can actually make things worse.Lemon Dip a clean cotton swab in fresh lemon juice and apply it to the pimples before going to bed. You can also mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and put it on the pimples overnight. In the morning, wash the skin well with lukewarm water.

When sebum, dead skin cells and bacteria clog up your pores, inflammation sets in and pimples develop.Oily and fried foods disrupts hormonal activity in your body leading to Inflammation which drives up oil gland production, making your skin oilier and inviting to acne bacteria and pimples. Hello, doctors I am really suffering acne last 3 years. I consult many doctors and I am really frustrated due to this.

Dear Lybrate User, *Avoid more salty, dry, maida related junk foods, more tea, coffee. *Consume more fresh fruit juice. *Practice yoga, meditation, breathing exercise. *Cleansing shall be one of the most important steps of your skin care routine. Even if you are not having an acne problem washing the face twice a day helps in removing dirt, oil and dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. Less oil and dirt also means less acne. While washing your face never apply soap and always use a mild face cleanser. Also wash the face only with warm or cold water as using hot water can cause pimples lemons are also believed to be a quite effective natural treatment for getting rid of pimples. Lemons can help avoiding pimples in more than one way. Lemon juice reduces the oil, kills bacteria, reduces redness and also removes the pimple scars. To use it over your pimples squeeze some fresh lime juice over a cotton swab or a cotton ball and apply it over your face. It can give quick results. *Another wonder product which you already have in your kitchen and it can help you fight against pimples is baking soda. A mixture of baking soda and lemon juice can be applied on the skin to make it pimple free. Baking soda is an amphoteric compound which means it can work both as an acid and as a base. It helps in neutralizing the skin’s pH, imbalance in which is often a cause behind acne. It also dries the skin removing any extra oil and mixing some baking soda with water works wonderfully in cleansing and exfoliating our skin.

My skin is oily. I have tried many soaps and face washes bt there is no improvement in my skin. How to get rid of this?

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, Wash your face with Bakson's Facewash (wash your face with warm water only) and followed by CTMP, i.e. Cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally Sunscreen Gel with SPF-30) after washing your face daily. Prevention: -Take healthy food only and avoid unhealthy ones (although sebaceous glands are not excretory glands then as well!) as what you eat is reflected on your face! -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension as it encourages secretion of stress hormone in the body as thus affects skin or any other tissue of the body. -Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water in a day. -Take 6-8 hrs. Of sound sleep everyday. -Don't use others towels, handkerchief on your face as well as never share yours. -Never ever rub your face as it damages the skin (even towel should be dab on skin softly) and break outs of acne get worsened! -Maintain hygiene, wash your face 2-3 times in a day, changes the pillow covers, bed sheet daily, use cotton bed sheet only (try to sleep on your back). Home-made remedies: - Take 1 tbsp of fuller's earth (multani mitti) + a dash of lime + bit of rosewater – apply this on your face till it gets dried up, then rinse it off. - Take 1 tsp of Alum (or fitkari), make it slightly wet with water and apply this on your wet face, spread it well; let it dry and rinse it off. Alum remove your excessive moisture or oil and it also tightens the skin's tonicity. Medication: You can take homoeopathic medicines – Berberis Aquefolium Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice a day (and for local application as well) and Kali Brom. 200/ thrice a day – for 30 days.

How to Reduce Melanin in Skin

MBBS
Doctor, Begusarai
How to Reduce Melanin in Skin

He fastest way to permanently reduce melanin in skin is by undergoing a laser treatment, but this option is very costly. As an alternative you can either buy skin lightening creams from a store or visit a dermatologist to get some prescribed products. Natural home remedies like turmeric, aloe vera, tomato, cucumber, turmeric, lemon and potato can also be used to get rid of excess melanin.

Melanin plays a very important role in protecting the skin from the hazardous u. V rays and at the same time it is responsible for either fair or dark skin tone. Decreasing the level of melanin in skin will help you to reduce skin pigmentation and give you lighten and fair skin tone. To reduce melanin in skin you will have to wait for months and hence if you have patience then only you will be able to make skin look fair.

What increases the melanin levels?

These are some of the common causes that increases the melanin production in the body.
A.    Changes in the hormonal levels.
B.    Excess contact of skin with sun rays.
C.    Some kinds of skin disorders also lead to high melanin in skin.
D.    Adrenal disorder can also be the cause.
E.    Lack of adequate vitamins and malnutrition are also some other causes.

Despite the fact that an adequate quantity of the melanin pigment is required to protect skin from the damaging sun rays, but large quantity of this pigment makes skin dark. Maybe you have heard that exposing skin under sun makes it dark, this is because melanin is produced in to protect it. Over exposure to the ultra violet rays stimulates the development of this pigment. To reduce melanin in we have mentioned a lot of tips which covers commercial products to home remedies.

Ask a dermatologist for fair skin
Whether your skin is naturally dark or due to some other reasons, a dermatologist can give you the best cure to reduce the melanin levels in skin. After checking up your skin condition these experts recommend some of the creams and oral supplements that can help you obtain fair skin. They can prescribe you with hydroquinone which makes use of hydrogen peroxide to reduce melanin and get rid of pigmented skin. Regularly using a hydroquinone cream will help in reduction of darkness. Apart from this there are also other treatments available to lower the melanin production in our body. One of such treatment includes using of monobenzone cream. When this cream is applied to the skin melanocytes are secreted in the body that lowers the melanin pigment and helps to permanently make skin fair. Also there are many drugs available that you need to take orally. Hence, by visiting a dermatologist you are exposed to variety of available treatments.

Melanin reducing creams
Beauty stores are flooded with skin whitening creams that help in lightening the skin tone. These creams contain various natural extracts and chemically made formulas that help in reducing the quantity of the melanin in skin. Also there is present collagen, vitamin c and antioxidants that overall provides flexibility to the skin, removes the wrinkles and help you achieve fairness. Research about some of the best cream available and use it for getting a glowing and white complexion.
A laser surgery might help
If you have the money then this is the fastest and the most promising solution to reduce melanin levels. In this process a high intensity pulsed laser is focused on the skin which is used to break down the melanin pigment under it. Before opting for a laser treatment, consult with the doctor regarding the advantages as well as the side effects of it. Laser skin lightening process requires 5-10 sessions and then there are certain precautions you need to follow to maintain the fairness.
Apply sun protection lotions
This is the best precaution you can take whether you skin is dark or fair. Using sun protection lotions helps in providing a layer of shield to skin and it not only prevents tanning and pigmentation but also lowers the risk of skin cancer. When the sun rays fall on the surface of skin, melanin is produced to protect it. But, if you use such a lotion in advance your skin will not have to produce melanin. This will not make your skin fair, but will prevent further production of this pigment and thus prevent darkening of skin.

Homeopath,
Dear lybrate user, hair growth occurs in cycles. Each cycle consists of a long growing phase (anagen), a short transitional phase (catagen) and a short resting phase (telogen). At the end of the resting phase, the hair falls out (exogen) and a new hair starts growing in the follicle beginning the cycle again. Normally, about 40 hairs reach the end of their resting phase each day and fall out. When more than 100 hairs fall out per day, clinical hair loss may occur. Hair loss have many causes such as:- 1) shrinkage of the hair follicles due to the influence of androgenic hormones. 2) under-nutrition of the hair due to fungal infection on the scalp. 3) effects of radio therapy or chemotherapy. 4) nutritional deficiencies. 5) autoimmune diseases. Modes of treatment for hairfall/alopecia includes surgical modes, oral medicine & local external application. The minimum duration of the course of oral medicines & external application is 6 months. But before starting any treatment, the proper underlying cause behind alopecia needs to be diagnosed. A detailed case taking is required to find out the cause behind alopecia.

firstly, don't try to self treat acne. Some popular nonprescription acne lotions, cleansers and other skin products can cause a serious reaction (rare), mostly it is normal to have acne in teenage. For pimples it's important to wash your face twice daily to remove impurities, dead skin cells, and extra oil from your skin's surface, avoid touching your face or propping your cheek or chin on your hands. Not only can you spread bacteria, you can also irritate the already inflamed facial skin. Never pick or pop pimples with your fingers, as it can lead to infection and scarring. A dietary therapy with the right medications for pimples can also help a lot. Kojic acid (a natural skin lightener derived from mushroom extract), arbutin (also called bearberry extract), and vitamin c (ascorbic acid) are great alternative ingredients to lighten scars left by acne. Don't use vitamin e on scars. You may have heard that applying vitamin e to a scar will help it heal faster. But according to a study, applying the nutrient directly onto a scar can actually hinder its healing. In the study, vitamin e either had no effect or made matters worse for 90% of the patients, and 33% who put vitamin e on the skin developed a contact dermatitis. I am a registered dietitian and a doctor who will help you in your skin problems reply back for private consultation.
