I am not sure who got you hooked onto sleeping pills. On a longer run they will shrink your brain, resulting in early onset dementia, personality changes, memory changes, even withdrawal seizures. Kindly consult a psychiatrist, get your sleep evaluated, and he will gradually wane you off the sleeping pills and give pills which promote sleep by acting on the cause of sleep disturbance, he may also educate you on sleep hyigiene.

I am 41 years old I have heavy diabetic for the past 5 years. And I have taking insulin for past 4 years. But I cant reduce the insulin level. What should I do for the same ?

For a diabetic it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the sugar levels, lifestyle and history. Though you can follow some guidelines - have small frequent meals. Do not fast for more than 2-3 hours. Avoid a very heavy meal at one time. Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar. Fruits should be had as a mid meal. Avoid junk foods. Exercise and stay active. Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into hypoglycaemia. Sleep well. It's all a matter of discipline.

I am 43 year old and diabetic since last 15 years, I am taking glycophage sr 1gm and amaryl 2mg and daily walking about 4km but still my sugar is not controlled.

Diabetes can be controlled/managed by a proper regulated diet and exercise..>> Avoid 3 big meals. Instead take small mini meals every 2/3 hours. Take green vegetables/salad with every minimeal..>> Eat whole grain food/grains like ragi, wheat, jowar instead of refined grains like maida/ sooji/ white bread etc..>> Reduce foods with high GI Index like potato, white rice, banana, mango..>> Avoid all forms of simple sugars like Colas, juices, sweets, cakes, biscuits, pizzas, noodles etc..>> Eat fruits  with low/medium GI index like apple, guava, mosambi, orange.  .>> Eat proteins like dals, sprouts, (NV) egg, chicken etc with every minimeal. Drink lot of water. One glass every hour..>> Do at least 30-45 mins of exercise everyday. Walk for 10 mins after every meal..>> These steps can help reduce sugar levels.

डॉक्टर होने के नाते हमें अनगिनत बार इस सवाल का सामना करना पड़ता है कि इंसुलिन कब बन्द होगी। यह सवाल आधारित है इस मिथ्या पर की इंसुलिन शरीर को कमज़ोर करता है या इंसुलिन लगने का अर्थ है शुगर की बीमारी में गिरावट। लेकिन इंसुलिन शुगर की सबसे क़ुदरती दावा है क्योंकि आपका शरीर भी शुगर क़ाबू में रखने के लिए इंसुलिन ही बनाता है। अतः इंसुलिन को बंद करने से आप कोई लाभ नहीं पायगे। बल्कि मेरे विचार में आप शुगर की अन्य दवाइयाँ बन्द करके केवल इंसुलिन द्वारा ही शुगर को कंट्रोल करे। आपके अच्छें स्वास्थ्य की कामना करते हुएँ।

Hi Limit carbohydrates food Exercise/walking daily for atleast 45 minutes Lot of green leafy vegetables (cabbage, cucumber, cauliflower etc) systematic monitoring of blood values Wishing you father good health

This is quite normal for her age. It would help of the fasting came down to below 130 but this is ok too. She should not get low sugar.

This measure might help in early Diabetes, but doesn't in Diabetes of long duration. Anyways, you can continue if it is helping as it is relatively harmless.

Kindly take Ural BPh capsule, 1 cap, twice a day after meals, twice a day. Take punarnava ark, 20 ml, twice a day empty stomach. Keep a check on your blood glucose levels also. Continue the regime for 2 months. Good luck

I m advising you following remedy Natural home remedy using bitter gourds: 1. Remove the skin and seeds of 4-5 bitter gourds 2. Crush them to a make a paste 3. May be due to digestive disorder. Observe the following to improve your digestive system---*Diet –Avoid fried, spicy and sour foods. *Maintain food timings-neither stomach should be empty nor heavy, frequent small helpings may be ok. *Prefer – whole grains, milk, curd, greens, fruits and such items which suit you. *Have timely and adequate sleep. *. Drinking lots of water is good.*Be relaxed and avoid tension *. Daily jogging or such exercise to ensure good blood circulation which helps digestion, dissipation of gases and nutrients reaching the body *Increased blood circulation, in turn, takes away toxins from the system making you more active agile and fit. Digestive disorder and flatulence bloats your abdomen causing pressure on other adjacent organs. Homoeopathy has good treatment for stomach pain acidity and flatulence without adverse effects. How to control diabetes through ayurveda?
Follow the tips to control diabetes 1-Losing Extra Weight:-helps lowering blood pressure and cholesterol too. For woman: waist of 80 cm or more & for man: waist of 90 cm or more are at risk 2- Constant and regular food timings :-improves metabolic activity and helps in reducing weight. 3- Split your meals and eating in moderate amount:-, improves your metabolic rate as the food u take is not concentrated at one time. 4- No long Gaps and skipping of meals:-. Never miss out breakfast. 5- No overeating:-Never eat in a bulk on one time .Eat your food slowly, chew well. 6- Proper Exercise and work outs:- Brisk walking for 30 min. atleast five times a week is the best and easiest way of exercising. You can also try Cycling, swimming, dancing. Timings for exercise should be fixed and regular. Avoid heavy exercise. Do not eat right away after a workout . 7-constant and regular timings for medication 8-Avoid fried foods and meat: Limit fats and sweets. Rather choose a variety of foods including whole grains, fresh vegetables, salads, fruits, low fat dairy products. 9- Take high-fibre and complex carbohydrates:-like oats as they are easily broken down to basic sugars. Add whole grain foods in your diet. Avoid carbohydrates like white bread, pasta, pizza , candies, and snacks .Instead include high-fiber carbohydrates like wheat bran, flaxseed and methi seeds to your wheat flour. This will increase fibre in your diet. 10-Drink enough fluids:-Keep your body well hydrated. Drink a lot of water that will help flush the toxins off your system. 11.Fresh vegetables and fruits:- gives essential benefits as these contain a lot of vital minerals as well as nutrients .Include sprouts in the diet as they are easily digestible and a rich source of nutrients.

Hi. Hope you keeping a check on your blood sugar level. Joint pain could be due to elevted uric acid level. Please get a serum uric acid test done. There are some simple exercises for knee pain. It would be advisable to consult a yoga teacher or a physiotherapist. If the pain becomes unbearable, you can take a pain killer.

Almost daily morning When I try to get out of my bed/cot, I feel that my leg muscles are stiffened and I have to wait for the muscles (especially calf) to get relaxed. What is the cure?
