I am 51 years. Old and during check up I found that the cholesterol levels are up at 246 mg/dl. Is it necessary to take medicine, or any other possibilities?

General Physician (AM)
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Chandigarh
Yes very much necessary to take medication, eat lots of garlic. If you cant have it get it homeopathically allium sativum,(biochemic) nat phos, avoid all types of fats and red meat. Requires detailed questioning so as to ascertain your personality and to treat you symptomatically. Treatment is available, safe and without side effects in biochemic system of medication. Consult me in private.

I do not have blood pressure problem at all, I eat iodised salt with the dish that is less salty, I heard that eating raw salt is bad for health, is their any connection between iodised salt and thyroid?

If your daily diet lacks iodine, you can develop a condition known as iodine deficiency disorder or IDD, which is detrimental to your thyroid gland. This condition can be reversed by routine intake of iodized salt. The human body does not produce iodine, so if you do not receive iodine through iodized salt or some other means, your thyroid gland does not produce sufficient levels of thyroid hormone. This condition, known as hypothyroidism, can cause weight gain, fatigue, depression, increased cholesterol levels and muscle cramps.

Sorry to learn that you are feeling low and fatigues and have a headache sometimes. The investigations done by you are normal except for low levels of vitamin D and elevated blood sugar levels. You can correct that by taking vitamin D supplements after consultation. Your blood sugar fasting is on the higher side. You need to reduce your weight too I hope you are not anxious or depressed as these too can make you feel low A headache that is frequent is usually related to tension or a migraine headache take care.

Hi Sir, I am having left ventricle hypertrophy. My bp is always above 140/100 pulse is 90 plus.

Hi Sir, I am having left ventricle hypertrophy. My bp is always above 140/100 pulse is 90 plus.
Hypertension is both lifestyle and dietary disease which requires only lifestyle and dietary changes and no medicine is needed provided the triggers are identified and treated. BP medicines cause complications which your Dr. is not going to talk about and you never ask your doctor also .So read up first and question your Dr. Doctors lack of nutrition and preventive medicine knowledge combined with vested monetary interests prevents diseases from getting cured completely. Do not believe in the lies told by drs that you have to take BP medicines lifelong. Reversible causes of BP like Mineral, Vitamin deficiency, high calorie diet, Thyroid disease ,Stress etc needs to be excluded and treated which will cure your high BP. 1) Detailed history including dietary & lifestyle habits needed in addition to medical, occupational ,& environment history 2) Comprehensive lab testing needed which should have tests for inflammation and mineral deficiency. Do tests reflecting not focusing on heart alone. 3) Get detailed dietary and lifestyle habits advice based on the basis of detailed history and lab tests results. If you do not follow these 3 steps you will be left with no other option other than life long medications and Dr. shopping Send feedback with name and contact number and take consult. Rule out any structural heart disease as proved by normal cardiac tests like Echo, and TMT, If your test results are all normal but you are still having high BP that clearly indicates your Dr. Has not addressed the root cause of the problem. Dr. medicating you without educating you puts a temporary fix which is more profitable for the doctor Wake up and Get educated and never medicated for any Lifestyle and dietary disease like high BP.

1. Do saline gargles daily. 2. Whenever possible do steam inhalation also. 3. Cover your nose and mouth with hanky for at least 30 sec when you go in dusty areas also when you go in and out of ac. As our nose is the most sensitive part of our body, when there is temperature difference between two rooms or inside n outside, then if we not protect our nose, it gets affected. 4. Drink hot liquids --hot liquids relieve nasal congestion, prevent dehydration, and soothe the uncomfortably inflamed membranes that line your nose and throat. 5. Sleep with an extra pillow under your head-- elevating your head will help relieve congested nasal passages. If the angle is too awkward, try placing the pillows between the mattress and the box springs to create a more gradual slope. 6. Treat that stuffy nose with warm salt water-- salt-water rinsing helps break nasal congestion, while also removing virus particles and bacteria from your nose. 7. Blow your nose often (and the right way)-- it's important to blow your nose regularly when you have a cold rather than sniffling mucus back into your head. But when you blow hard, pressure can carry germ-carrying phlegm back into your ear passages, causing earache. The best way to blow your nose: press a finger over one nostril while you blow gently to clear the other. Homeopathic treatment has very encouraging results and gives relief in long term ask for consultation with detailed information so that I can help you better.
