I am 65 years male having ankle joint pain may be due to ankle artharetis. What is the best treatment without medicine as I am allergic to steroids medicines. Had angioplastry.

Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Please swing 20 times morning and evenings. This will relieve your problem. Consult after 10 days.

Lower back pain you can do it this exercise, 1 Lying on your back, bend your right knee into your chest and place a strap or rolled-up towel around the ball of your foot. Straighten your leg toward the ceiling. Press out through both heels. If the lower back feels strained, bend the left knee and place the foot on the ground. Hold for 3-5 minutes and then switch to the left let for 3-5 minutes. 2…. Lying on your back, bend your knees into your chest and bring your arms out at a T. As you exhale lower your knees to ground on the right. Keep both shoulders pressing down firmly. If the left shoulder lifts, lower your knees further away from the right arm. Hold for 1-2 minutes each side I hope you will fit and fine

I experience severe pain in my right leg heel when I get up from sitting position and lasts for 15-20 min. I don't experience this pain while standing/walking/working. I consulted one orthopedic doctor and without any x-ray or anything, he told it could be due to vitamin D deficiency which appeared very strange to me. Can someone pls guide me.

Ankle stretch calves get a custom made insole. Hams stretching. Sports taping. Hot fomentation. Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Can you specify which muscles are you talking about and whether there is any previous history or current h/o injury? also you can start with a gentle anti inflammatory medication like tab paracetamol or tab etoshine for pain relief and also add a muscle relaxant for 3-5 days. Kindly let me know if there is no relief from symptoms after 3-5 days when certain investigations may be required for further evaluation. Bruise formation indicates blood oozing into tissues after injury. By body's protective mechanism this blood collected in tissue undergoes chemical breakdown and resorption. The color changes of Bruise are due to these chemical reaction. Dont worry this will resolve in 2 to 3 weeks time. Meanwhile do the following at home. 1. Apply ice pack over the area for 10 mins and 4 times a day. 2. Apply Thrombophob ointment over r the area 4 times a day. 3. take over the counter available anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen for 3 days round the clock. 4. Do gentle knee movement and stretching exercises.

. Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily – Lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana? Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Sir actually I am confused whether I am suffering from knock knee problem or not. Actually both my knees touches each other and ankles also touches each other when I stand straight in attention position. There is no distance between ankles when I stand straight in attention position but at same time there is also no gap between knees. So sir do I have knock knee?

A person with knock knees has a large gap between their feet when they're standing with their knees together. If someone with knock knees stands with their knees together, their lower legs will be spread out so their feet and ankles are further apart than normal. A small distance between the ankles is normal, but in people with knock knees this gap can be up to 8cm (just over 3 inches) or more.

I am here on behalf of my wife, she had falld down in last juley, go small injury on tale born(coaxycs). In the x-ray it was showing small bent, no fracture, but its really very painfull, and she was unable to walk, or sit for even for some minutes. Took some rest as prescribed by an ortho doctor, there was no change. Whe she take rest at night, morning pain will go, and again it used to star if she walks or sit. The after that we consulted to ayurvedic treatment, had 28 days treatment, by steaming, massaging, physio exercise, and full bed rest. She just came from hopital and now taking rest at home since 15 days, but still not full recovery, still she is having pain. Kindly advice me, what to for this. You advice will be very much helpfull for us.

Even after so much treatment, she has not responded, she needs to be investigated further. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift current can give you some relief. -a full history of your problem should be taken and your movements assessed by a physiotherapist. Please consult a physiotherapist for the same.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.
