Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hello doctor I have been suffering from cervical spondylosis since years and now I am suffering from pinching nerves ...
Spondylosis is common and worsens with age. This condition is often used to describe degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis) of the spine. Most people don't have symptoms, but some may experience pain or muscle spasms. In many cases, no specific treatment is required. If symptoms occur, treatments include medication, corticosteroid injections, physiotherapy and sometimes surgery.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5 days, contact me again.

Hi, You need to prevent yourself from maintaining your back muscles. Don't strain your back muscles by lifting any heavy objects, don't ignore your pain or any other symptoms like tingling sensation, throbbing pain, and also radiating pain till lower leg. Consult first neurosurgeon if the compression is severe you might require a surgery and if surgeon says not require then you can surely go for physiotherapist. Physiotherapist will guide you further.

I am a female aged 58 years. I have osteoarthritis. I am taking calcium substitute in the form of CCM (Calcium Citrate Malate-Vitamin D3 Oral). Is it a good calcium supplement or is there any other which is better than this?

MD - Medicine , MBBS
General Physician, Vadodara
Please check your Vitamin D. Calcium supplement will not digest unless you have proper vitamin D supplement also. You can restrain yourself from all fermented food. Check for ozone doctor in your city, ozone therapy may help you.
