Symptoms of gallstone disease
Asymptomatic Gallstones:
Most do not develop symptoms even after follow up periods as long as 20 years. Approximately 20% of patients develop symptoms by 15 years. Asymptomatic gallstone disease does not need surgery but there are important exceptions tabulated below.
1.High risk for gallbladder cancer
North Indian women with gallstones
Gallstones larger than 3 cm in diameter
Porcelain gallbladder (calcification in the wall)
Gallbladder polyps larger than 12 mm
Note:- The role of prophylactic cholecystectomy in young patients from various parts of India has been emphasized in many recent papers.
2.Diabetes
Infection in the gallbladder in patients with gallstones can be life threatening
3.Lifestyle
Working for prolonged periods in remote parts of the world with poor medical facilities
Symptomatic Gallstone Disease:
Although dyspepsia (upper abdominal fullness, flatulence or gas formation, heart burn, hyperacidity) are not considered typical symptoms of gallstones, in a study from AIIMS new Delhi of the 1,680 consecutive dyspeptic patients, 500 (29.8%) had gallstones. The common presentation of patients with gallstones is:-
Biliary pain: The typical first symptom is frequently characterized as pain in the right upper abdomen after a meal, more so after fatty foods.
Complications of gallstone disease
a. Acute Cholecystitis: Often patients will have history of biliary pain which lasts for > 3 hours, associated with fever and right upper quadrant tenderness (Murphy?s sign).
b. Chronic Chlolecystitis: Patients will have episodic epigastric or right upper abdominal pain lasting for more than 30 minutes
c. Choledocholithiasis: When a stone from the gallbladder slips into the common bile duct it can lead to biliary colic, obstructive jaundice followed by acute cholangitis or pancreatitis.
d. Acute Cholangitis: is a medical emergency. Patients may present with right upper quadrant abdominal pain, fever and jaundice. (Charcot?s triad)
e. Pancreatitis: A most dreaded and life threatening complication of gallstones presents with very severe, persistent central upper abdominal pain, retching and prostration.

56% Have Poor Vitamin Status After 10 Years Gluten-Free

A 2002 study in the of Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics looked at the vitamin status of 30 adults with Celiac Disease showing ?biopsy-proven remission,? after following a gluten-free diet for 8-12 years. They found that 56% had poor vitamin status, suggesting that proper nutrient uptake is not occurring. The authors concluded that:
?It is generally assumed that coeliac patients adhering to a strict gluten-free diet for years will consume a diet that is nutritionally adequate. This is supported by the demonstration of a normal bone mineral density up to 10 years of dietary treatment. Our results may indicate otherwise. We found signs indicative of a poor vitamin status in 56% of treated adult coeliac patients.?
Even after following the conventional Celiac prescription for 10 years, 56% still showed signs of poor nutrient uptake ? meaning their digestive system still isn?t working like it?s designed to.
That means after 10 years of being gluten-free, HALF of all Celiacs are likely starving for the critical nutrients required for health and longevity. It?s no wonder we have a 77X increased risk for lymphoma.
The Gluten-Free Diet Doesn?t Fix Leaky Gut
Earlier in this series, we discovered that gliadin initiates leaky gut by increasing the zonulin protein in people with Celiac Disease. And later, we learned that fixing leaky gut is absolutely essential to reversing the damage from Celiac Disease?
But the gluten-free diet doesn?t fix leaky gut?
As it turns out, when Celiac Disease patients follow a strict gluten-free diet, their zonulin levels do fall (which is good). But research shows that they still have elevated levels of zonulin compared to non-Celiacs. And when the zonulin levels are still high? the Tight Junctions can?t restore normal function and the leaky gut remains.
Chris Masterjohn found the same thing reviewing a study by researcher Allessio Fasano.
Remarkably, they found that celiacs produce 30 times as much zonulin as non-celiacs, even though the non-celiacs were not eating gluten-free diets while the celiacs had been off gluten for over two years!

I am facing acute stomach problem for the past 40 years. I don't feel any pressure to go to toilet, hence I have to take help from different substances in different period. At present, I use SONA leaves boiled in water before going to bed every alternate days. Only the next day I feel the expected urge to clear my bowel but the next proceeding day I don't feel any pressure. How can I stop this practice and start a normal bowel clearing system?

Take EZLAX at bedtime daily, increase intake of green veggies and papaya, drink lots of water and go for an hour long walk every day. If all this doesn't regularize your bowel habits go see a gastroenterologist and get a colonoscopy done.

Your problem needs appropriate diagnosis. Usually when such gastrites like symptoms comes people goes to a medicine shop or a quack and get some antacids or conventional tablets, and problem goes for a moment and reverts back again with more rigidity. Unfortunately this cycle goes on till such gastrites converts in to a cancer or non-healing ulcer (for which surgery is the only treatment). Almost all types of stomach problem are treatable but need correct diagnosis as early as possible. There are at least 6-8 causes of such gastric problem and the medicine for each of them are also different. Hence, kindly get your problem diagnosed early and correctly first.

In many cases, simple changes in your diet like taking high fibre foods and lifestyle can provide relief from irritable bowel syndrome. Although your body may not respond immediately to these changes, your goal is to find long-term, not temporary, solutions. I will inform you on how to make diet, lifestyle changes, make you understand instructions for taking medication because it won't work if you don't take it as directed. Consult privately for a holistic dietary therapy to solve your problems.

you need to be investigated and examined thoroughly to know the origine of pain whether it is due to gall stone ot kidney stones, in any case it it needs investigations like urine rm and urine cs and serum creatinine and serum calcium and serum uric acid and LFT, then surgical intervention is required accordingly.
