it should be avoided, in majority of cases , it is totally treatable, you need counseling , need change in life style, leave smoking, avoid alcohol, keep your bp and sugar level under control, reduce your wt, go for morning walk for 1 hr, do exercise regularly,you will be alright, it will help. 37 mm cervical length is absolutely normal report and do not need any further tests for the same. Normal cervical length is more than or equal to 25mm. So there is or will not be any problem with your pregnancy. There is no need to take rest.

HI Lybrate USER. 1) apply equal quantity mixture of fresh lemon juice and garlic juice on face…. Leave it for 30-45 minutes…. After that wash it with lukewarm water. Do this 2 times in a day. Do this for 15 days. It gives you good result. Thanks.

Ra is one of the most treatable arthritis currently and you should consult a rheumatologist if possible in person who are specialised at treating diseases like ra. The therapy of ra has advanced if you continue to get substandard treatment all your joints will get destroyed and you won't be able to reverse that. Also ra is a disease which can affect multiple systems and potentially life threatening. Its a misconception that ayurvedic drugs in ra have no side effects. Following are issues with it 1) most so called ayurveda specialists give you powder which are unlabelled which basically can be steroids/allopathy, you can never tell the difference 2) ayurveda drugs contain gold and lead (for which maggi was banned) both of which can have serious side effects 3) gold tablet are still used in allopathy outside india but they are used as last resort, not as first drug unlike ayurved 4) allopathic rheumatologists, treat ra to an extent so that all symptoms go away, they try to give you medicines with monitoring and avoiding side effects 5) most ayurvedic specialists take allopathy when they have ra.

You need to focus on healthy foods eat foods that are loaded with vitamins, minerals, nutrients and calories. You can enrich foods with real nut butters, whole fat milk, avocado, whole wheat bread, vegetable oils, nuts, potatoes, eat more often. Increasing the amount of calories you eat each day will help to gain weight. Focus on eating each meal containing a protein then do regular exercise for fitness.

To gain weight you should eat more calories than you burn. Plus not only you have to eat calorie dense food but you have to keep in mind that what you are eating is healthy too. In the process of weight gain you do not want to put weight in an uneven manner and look unhealthy rather than looking bright and healthy. 1. Start with changing your lifestly. Start working out if you are not active. The biggest myth that prevails now a days is that thin people do not need to work out. This is wrong. When you challenge your body, it is forced to grow. But this growth can only be possible if you are eating enough food to let the body absorb and grow in size and muscles. 2. Eat Healthy – Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food, pepsi, sugary stuff etc. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 3 hours. This means you have to eat 6 small meals in a day. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain. Try to be patient while you are on the process of weight gain. Results take time to show. Just follow this regimen and you will soon start seeing the results.

Any serious illness, especially painful ones, can make you lazy. But some quite minor illnesses can also leave you feeling washed out. Here are 10 health conditions that are known to cause fatigue. 1. Coeliac disease This is a type of food intolerance, where your body reacts badly when you eat gluten – a substance found in bread, cakes and cereals. 90% of us don’t know we have the condition, Other symptoms of coeliac disease, apart from tiredness, are diarrhoea, anaemia and weight loss. Your Doctor can check if you have coeliac disease through a blood test. 2. Anaemia One of the most common medical reasons for feeling constantly run down is iron deficiency anaemia. It affects around one in 20 men and post-menopausal women, but may be even more common in women who are still having periods. Typically, you’ll feel you can’t be bothered to do anything, your muscles will feel heavy and you’ll get tired very quickly. Women with heavy periods and pregnant women are especially prone to anaemia. 3. Chronic fatigue syndrome Chronic fatigue syndrome (also called myalgic encephalomyelitis or ME) is a severe and disabling tiredness that goes on for at least six months. There are usually other symptoms, such as a sore throat, muscle or joint pain and headache. 4. Sleep apnoea Sleep apnoea is a condition where your throat narrows or closes during sleep and repeatedly interrupts your breathing. This results in bad snoring and a drop in your blood's oxygen levels. The difficulty in breathing means that you wake up often in the night, and feel exhausted the next day. It’s most common in overweight, middle-aged men. Drinking alcohol and smoking makes it wor 5. Underactive thyroid An underactive thyroid gland means that you have too little thyroid hormone (thyroxine) in your body. This makes you feel tired. You’re also likely to put on weight and have aching muscles. It’s most common in women, and it happens more often as you get older. Your Doctor can diagnose an underactive thyroid by taking blood test 6. Diabetes One of the main symptoms of diabetes, a long-term condition caused by too much sugar in the blood, is feeling very tired. The other key symptoms are feeling very thirsty, going to the toilet a lot and weight loss. Your Doctor can diagnose diabetes with a blood test. 7. Glandular fever Glandular fever is a common viral infection that causes fatigue, along with fever, sore throat and swollen glands. Most cases happen in teenagers and young adults. Symptoms usually clear up within four to six weeks, but the fatigue can linger for several more months. 8. Depression As well as making you feel very sad, depression can also make you feel drained of energy. It can stop you falling asleep or cause you to wake up early in the morning, which makes you feel more tired during the day. 9. Restless legs This is when you get uncomfortable sensations in your legs, which keep you awake at night. You might have an overwhelming urge to keep moving your legs, a deep ache in your legs, or your legs might jerk spontaneously through the night. Whatever your symptoms, your sleep will be disrupted and of poor quality, so you’ll feel very tired throughout the day. 10. Anxiety Feeling anxious is sometimes perfectly normal. However, some people have constant, uncontrollable feelings of anxiety, which are so strong they affect their daily life. We call this generalised anxiety disorder (GAD). It is becoming more frequent in India. As well as feeling worried and irritable, people with GAD often feel tired. For a diagnosis for your problem you shoulld consult a doctor.

Dear lybrate-user, your symptoms are related to occipital headache which aggravates with postural stress & mental stress. Kindly improve your sitting posture. Idea posture is when minimal stress is placed on your neck/shoulders/elbows/wrist & hand. While sitting take proper back support & place your chair as close to desk as possible. Keep your shoulders & ear in 1 line avoid excessive neck bending & desktop monitor @1 arm distance from you. You can also do simple shoulder shrugging & neck stretching ex's within limits of pain. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem. Kindly consult a physician for your stomach problem.

Dear lybrate-user, In order for you to gain weight, you need to eat high calorie diet and frequent meals, in case you cannot consume more food at a given time. Since you asked home remedies, I would give you some tips that are usually old fashion way of eating our Indian meals like: parantha with butter (butter will add some additional calories). Saag (Also, people like to put desi ghee/or butter to it, especially winter season). Chikki and peanuts or nut bars or protein bars in between meals are very good sources of good protein and good fat. Try to include Eggs, whole wheat, cheese, meat fish, poultry (if non-vegetarian), lentils, peanut butter, almond butter etc. Have at least 3-4 cups of milk (or distributed among different meals in forms of yogurt/buttermilk etc.), 7-8 ounces of cooked meat/fish/poultry or beans/lentils, 2 eggs, 6 servings of yellow and green vegetables that includes fruit (please ensure to use citrus fruit like orange, grapefruit, 4-5 servings or whole grain cereal like roti or brown rice. Additional foods from fats/sweets in form of desserts.

Hi Mr. Lybrate-user, gym is not the only option you have to do some dietary changes in your daily routine diet. Try to take more & more green leafy vegetables and fruits. Take small & frequent meal. Do not skip your breakfast. Avoid simple carbs & sugar in diet. Try to avoid heavy dinner.
