I am 48 year female. I am having pain in sole of please left foot(near heel)from 7-8 days. It occurs while standing or walking. Also from 2-3 years I am suffering from constipation, kindly advice.

Contrast bath---It is a form of treatment knee is applied warm water followed by the immediate application of the knee with ice water. This procedure is repeated several times, alternating hot and cold. Note that the treatment should always end in the ice water, as heat will induce the body's inflammatory response, while cold helps to decrease inflammation.

I have pain in left knee. During walking.my weight. Is 85kg. Hight 166cns. Bhi 29 some times it starts from lumbar region and decends down thru left thigh to knee and to lower side. I take glucosamine 1500 mcg od along with aceclofenac 100mg. For controll of pain and trying to lower my weight. Thanks.

This is a general strain due to excessive walking or standing and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes. One time you can do hot water fermentation that would help to reduce the muscle strain.

How do I get relief from the joint pain and swelling in various area's like hands and legs due to chicken gunia.
Towel Hamstring Stretch Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it.. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds.

To start with,you need to visit the physio or ortho for the proper assessment.In the mean time try to correct your sitting posture, sit with a proper back rest &you can also use Amron backrest for you office chair & car seat,there are some back exs you need to do to strengthen your back muscles. Those can be recommended only after physical examination.

My mother is 60 years old and she has a back pain and legs pain problem. According to recent consultation with the doctor in surat, the MRI report says the lower back pain is due to (manka ) has weakened and need to do the operation for that. I am little scared that if the operation doesn't go well than my mother will have more problem and she will not be able to move also. Please guide me doctors if there is some other option other than operation. Because there are many cases I saw that after operation the patient condition went more worse for this problem. Please help me out with a solution so that I can show the reports also if some better option is suggested.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

The pain in toes & knee are possibly due to low calcium level & arthritis. Follow these usefultips for arthritis pain relief: * take take calcium rich diet daily. Take a glass (300 ml) of full cream milk daily or 100 gm of cheese or 1-2 eggs regularly. * give a gentle oil massage to knees regularly and wrap your knees with cloth dipped in hot water for atleast 10-15 minutes. * wear knee cap or wrap crape bandage during walk for knee support. * sit atleast for 5-8 minutes in sunlight in morning or evening for vitamin-d *avoid heal shoe and wear only flat shoes for balanced load on knees. * take guggalu tablets if himalaya one tablet daily for atleast 3 months. * take a piece of garlic, crush it and boil it a glass of milk and drink daily for fast pain relief.

My mother has been suffering from stiff joint pain for last few years. Though medication is going on but there is no actual relief. At present her age is 55+. Some years back she was having same problem. With treatment she was well at that time. But now she can not move her hands properly. Walking is also difficult for her. Please help me. Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Stiffness of joints is actually a manifestation which is commonly seen in inflammatory joint disease. As you say that she had similar symptoms few years back as well, I would actually like to see what was she diagnosed with at that time? also I would like to see her investigations especially cbc, esr, crp, serum vitamin d & b12 levels, serum electrolytes and thyroid profile. Hi 1) wear comfortable sports shoes 2) make daily routine of exercise 3) rule out calcium and vit d deficiency 4) do proper warm up before exercise and cool down after exercise 5) do stretching of legs do exercise under supervision of skilled physiotherapist. You may require confirmation of Collar Bone Fracture by X Ray. and confirm that broken segments have not damaged the soft tissue. You may require immobilisation with brace given by bone specialist. for about 4 weeks. Confirmation that fragments have come together and joined with bone tissue. This is luckily a simple fracture. You should be absolutely normal

Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, Please Inform.

Dear lybrate user, a kidney stone is mainly formed due to the accumulation of the minerals present in urine. Such accumulation occurs mainly due to low intake of fluids. Continuous low fluid intake results in the deposits of the minerals over the stone & eventually leads to an increase in the size of the stone. Formation of stone leads to pain along the kidney region. If the size of the kidney stone is below 3mm then it is possible to get rid of it without any surgery. Take homoeopathic mother tincture berberis vulgaris q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water for 15 days. The stone will be expelled through urine in between the span of 15 days of medication. But if the size of the stone is more than 3mm then you should surely go for surgery.
