Guidelines For Natural Conception In This Commercial World

MD, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Ahmedabad

Every women starts having menstruation around the age of 12 to 14 and stops menstruation around the age of 40 years. From 14 years to the age of 40 years, if she has 28 days menstrual cycle, the day she gets period is called 1st day of menstrual cycle, accordingly on 14th day- ovulation takes place.
Couple should do daily sexual relations, especially around the ovulation time- 14th day of menstrual cycle + & - 5 days should be spared for quality sexual relations for natural conception.
It should not be programmed sex at the timing of ovulation but natural qualitative sexual relations is important.
If frequency is less or any quarries regarding sexual process - foreplay - erection - penetration - ejeculation - you should ask to your doctor and should be cleared from your mind.
If you are trying sincerely for more than one year and not getting results, you should contact gynaecologist for further guidance and treatment.
Further treatment depend upon your age, active married life, associated factors found in examination and in ultrasonography findings especially in ovulation study done from 3rd to 14th day of menstrual day of menstruation by trance - vaginal sonography findings and presence of ovulation in your one of the ovary.
If required gynaecologist will recommend hormonal investigations like s. Tsh, s. Fsh, s. Lh, s. Prl, s. Amh levels according to your age, findings & requirements.
Gynaecologists may recommend husband seman analysis for male factor assessment.
Gynaecologist may give tab. Clomiphen citrate 50 mgs from 3rd or 5th day of menstrual cycle to increase the chances of conceiving by ovulation induction and tvusg monitoring from 5th to 14th day and hcg injection if endometrial thickness is adequate and follicle growing in one of the ovary adequately.
If above mentioned treatment does not give results, you should go for laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for further finding and simultaneously treating the causes of infertility. You should ask doctor for his experience, expertise, available instruments and infra structure with video recording of your surgery for taking and showing to another consultant in future if do not concive for his or her second opinion about your case without the need for 2nd laparoscopy or hysteroscopy.
In this commercial world, if your age is less than 30 years with open tubes in laparoscopy and normal ovarian reserve (normal s. Amh level & normal antral follicle count on day-3 menstrual cycle in tvusg finding), you should try for natural conception before going for expensive ivf treatment by taking guidance from honest practicing gynaecologist.

You can continue with krimson 35 but for preventing mild PCOD to moderate and severe PCOD life style modification simultaneously is very important. If you have PCOD then following guidelin. Get USG done for diagnosisYou need Life style modification for PCOD for whole life, You should do physical activities like brisk walking or cycling or any activities which leads to perspiration daily for one hour. Start doing for 5 minutes in first week, 10 minutes in 2nd week, 15 minutes in 3rd week……….within 2-3 months you will reach to your target of doing exercises for one hour/day. You have to control taking high carbohydrate and lipid diet daily. E.g. If you want to take one SAMOSA or One Gulabjambu or one pizza or ice cream, you have to do extra workout for 30-60 minutes over above the daily one hour of daily exercises then only you can eat extra calories food otherwise not. So controlling calories intake and daily burning calories regularly wil help to loos one kg/month- slow and steady control over long period. With PCOD if your BMI remain between 20 to 25 everything will be fine otherwise you will develop Gestational diabetes duri.
