A month back I ran a 5 km marathon. After the run I had a severe back pain which lasted for a week. Everything was fine after that until the last 2 days in which I'm having similar pains which is causing a lot difficulties while I'm working/sitting in a chair.

Hi please get your serum calcium and vitamin D3 levels done by blood tests. Do hot fomentation, and take adequate rest fir 3 days. Take pain meds also for 3 days. Do back muscles strengthening exercises under a physiotherapist show your blood reports to an orthopedic surgeon who may do further evaluation and management take protein rich nutrition's.Avoid lifting weights best wishes.

Lybrate-user you should reduce your weight first. Fr time being apply ice fr 8 mins. You should do some strengthening exs fr your back muscle.

Hello apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part and give hot water fomentation .take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya vatari capsule and syrup twice a day. Avoid fermented food. Junk food.

First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket . And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back . you may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * Gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * Surya Namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * In diet vegetable protein of cereal , B complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

As far as your knee pain goes, if there is no history of any injury, no swelling or any other s/s of inflammation or infection, my advise will be for physical therapy, anti inflammatory medications for 5-7 days, adequate calcium and vitamin d intake, ice packs at home and then let us see how much are you improving with conservative management. For your irregular periods, you should consult your gynaecologist as she will the best person to advice on that. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Calcium has nothing to do with knee pain. It's a wear and tear of the joint, so: don't bend your knee more than 90 degree. Do knee exercises use sports shoes.

Recently, I had a back pain. Doctor said I have a slip disc, but my age is just 30, moreover I hit the gym regularly. Maintained a healthy weights. Just because of this slip disc, I have stopped everything as because having a good and healthy body but a painful life is not a worthy thing. Doc had suggested a few exercise and not to bend forward. First avoid long time sitting posture do back extension exercise (bhujanagasan) twice a day in morning and at bed time do knee to chest exercise touch your toes in sitting posture pelvic bridging exercise avoid heavy weight lifting avoid forward bending.

1. Send your MRI REPORT 2. Don't sit on floor 3. Don't increase your weight 4. Wear sports shoes 5. Start with the Physiotherapy treatment 6. Learn spinal exercises from Physiotherapist 7. Do hot fermentation twice a day 8. Apply volini cream before sleeping.

Reasons can be-* cold weather *sitting in inconvenient posture constantly, without changing your position or without movement, *wearing ill fitting sandals, *lack of exercise or *internal disorder like arthritis. Point to observe- * if you have difficulty in climbing stairs, take lift while going upstairs. If there is no lift, go up slowly. * if it is due to strain of games or injury, take rest. * if it is due to obesity, reduce weight. * if it is due to constant sitting at a particular posture, change posture and engage in slow walk. * walking regularly at slow pace without unduly straining helps as it improves blood circulation around knee and eases the joint. *you can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take bryonia 200---twice daily morning and evening and give feedback after 7 days
