Dear lybrate-user, You need to do an ultrasound for the correct diagnosis for your urine retention that it is because of your stone. There are various other reasons of urine retention apart from bladder stones such as enlarged prostate, infections that cause swelling or irritation, nerve problems that interfere with signals between the brain and the bladder, medications, constipation, urethral stricture, or a weak bladder muscle. Consult me for further evaluation. Your feedback matters. Thank-you.

This problem usually occurs due to lack of hydration and excess of spicy and salty food, to avoid this problem further in future keep yourself hydrated in this dry weather, take good amount of semi solids like shakes lemon juices, sugarcane juice, and lassie curds any of milk products like cold coffee, hot coffee, this will definitely benefit you, avoid junk food, stop antibiotics you have taken enough.

You need to discuss your concerns with the doctor as it requires vigilance and frequent monitoring of your health. If given with caution (under the prescription of the doctor) then you need not worry. You also have to be proactive and take positive steps to improve you health status. Eat only healthy food (have wholesome grains and unpolished pulses along with seasonal vegetables and fruits ). Have sufficient water (10 - 12 glasses of water or more if required ). Reastrict the calorie intake. Be physically active - workout according to you comfort level. Learn yoga (and pranayam) as it is simple and does not have any adverse impact on your joints. Go for regular blood and urine tests to keep a check on your organs.

Hi , you may not be tolerating some particular food item. Try to correlate and find out which particular food doesn't suit you and stop taking it afterwards.

Is it necessary to have sigmoidoscopy for abdominal pain. My wife is suffering from chronic pancreatitis since 1 month. We have USG done last week and the USG findings are 1) Chronic pancreatitis with pre pancreatic edema at the tail region. 2). Mild thinking of walls of upper half of the descending colon. Maximum thickness is 8.6 mm and length of the Segment involved is 66 mm. Then our doctor advised her to go for sigmoidoscopy to check the inner wall of descending colon. Please advise is it necessary to have sigmoidoscopy.
