I had taken meprate tables before I know I am pregnant. But I didn't get period. After 15 days I went to gynaecologist and through home pregnancy test she confirmed I am pregnant. I also used homeopathy medicine for hormonal balance 5 days before the test. Last 2 weeks back in ultrasound scan it showed I am 4 to 5 weeks pregnant. Does these tablets affect my pregnancy? I am getting slight pain in vagina and abdomen sometimes and after we had sex. Is sex safe during this time? I have pcod problem since 7 years.

It is ok, these tablets have little or no effect on your pregnancy, so you can continue the pregnancy. Get and 3 d scan in 16-18 weeks of pregnancy, it will confirm that baby is absolutely fine. Secondly you should avoid sex in first trimester i. E. For 10 to 12 weeks of pregnancy at least then can have intercourse once a week.

These conditions are very easy to treat, but you need a professional to tell you exactly what you need to do.

My periods were always normal and on time. From the last two months I am having health problems as my hemoglobin level is very low and even Vitamin D3. I feel weak and thus this leads to stress. Sometimes I have little pain in my lower abdomen. My problem is that I haven't got periods from the last two months. Is it normal? I am very stressed. Can you suggest any medicine or home remedy to make my periods regular, as I am 24 years old and am a teacher.

Dear Lybrate user. The menstrual periods abnormalities, weakness are due to haemoglobin deficiency along with vit D deficiency as you have clearcut mentioned earlier no menstrual problems. Vit D plays an important role in Ca absorption and it's deficiency also leads to lower abdominal pain due to uterine cause. I think you are unmarried so no chance of pregnancy. Rx 1.Syp Ferikind 10 ml twice daily before food (before lunch and dinner) for 3 months. 2.Cap Caldikind 1 cap twice daily before food (before breakfast and snacks in the evening) for 3 months. 3.Syp Zincovit 10 ml twice daily after food for 3 months. Don't take calcium tablet or calcium rich food like milk, butter with iron tablet at the same time as calcium decreases the absorption of iron. You should avoid tea, coffee, antacids as these decreases the absorption of calcium and iron from the gut. Take protein rich nutritious diet, fruits vegetables and avoid fast food. You can take one glass of milk at breakfast daily. Report me after 3 months with a Hb and calcium, vit D levels report.

Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery!

MBBS, Dip.Cardiology, Fellowship in Clinical Cardiology(FICC), Fellowship in Echocardiology
Cardiologist, Ghaziabad
Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery!

In coronary artery disease (CAD), the arteries that supply blood and oxygen to your heart muscle grow hardened and narrowed. You may try treatments such as lifestyle changes, medicines, and angioplasty, a procedure to open the arteries. If these treatments don't help, you may need coronary artery bypass surgery.

The surgery creates a new path for blood to flow to the heart. The surgeon takes a healthy piece of vein from the leg or artery from the chest or wrist. Then the surgeon attaches it to the coronary artery, just above and below the narrowed area or blockage. This allows blood to bypass (get around) the blockage. Sometimes people need more than one bypass.

The results of the surgery usually are excellent. Many people remain symptom-free for many years. You may need surgery again if blockages form in the grafted arteries or veins or in arteries that weren't blocked before. Lifestyle changes and medicines may help prevent arteries from becoming clogged again.

At times there may be blocks in Fallopian tubes, if both are blocked then you need to undergo surgery. There are 50% chances of you becoming pregnant if one tube is blocked. Suggestion; consultant an experienced Gynecologist.
