hi ,,, according to your reports...you can cap.ecosprin gold -20 1hs. tab.atorvas -10 1od. cap. pan 40 1bbf. for 30 days . High cholesterol is a major risk factor for coronary heart disease, a cause of heart attacks, and reducing blood lipid levels lowers the cardiovascular risk.4 High levels of LDL lead to a build-up of cholesterol in the arteries, whereas HDL carries cholesterol to the liver for removal from the body.2 A build-up of cholesterol is part of the process that narrows arteries, called atherosclerosis, in which plaques form and cause restriction of blood flow.2 High cholesterol levels are a result of modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors. Two major risk factors, diet and exercise, are highly modifiable, meaning that something can be done to change these risk factors and reduce the likelihood of having high cholesterol.2 Limiting intake of fat in the diet helps manage cholesterol levels. In particular, it is helpful to limit foods that contain:2 Food sources of cholesterol Meat, cheese and egg yolks are sources of cholesterol. Cholesterol (from animal foods, such as egg yolks, meat and cheese) Saturated fat (found in some meats, dairy products, chocolate, baked goods, and deep-fried and processed foods) Trans fat (found in some fried and processed foods). Being overweight or obese can also lead to higher blood LDL levels, with regular exercise helpful in managing this risk factor.2 The primary causes of high cholesterol are genetic - very high LDL levels are found in the inherited condition familial hypercholesterolemia.5 Abnormal cholesterol levels may also be secondary to the following:5,6 Diabetes Liver or kidney disease Polycystic ovary syndrome Pregnancy and other conditions that increase levels of female hormones Underactive thyroid gland. Drugs that increase LDL cholesterol and decrease HDL cholesterol (progestins, anabolic steroids and corticosteroids).

Cholesterol level should be measured at least once every five years in everyone over age 20. The screening test that is usually performed is a blood test called a lipid profile. Experts recommend that men ages 35 and older and women ages 45 and older be more frequently screened for lipid disorders. The lipoprotein profile includes: Total cholesetrol LDL (low-density lipoprotein CHOLESETROL also called "bad"CHOLESTETROL HDL (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, also called "good" cholesterol) TRIGLYCERIDES (fats carried in the BLOOD from the food we eat. Excess calories, alcohol, or sugar in the body are converted into TRIGLYCERIDES and stored in fat cells throughout the body. High triglycerides and cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Change life style .do meditation, yoga, Go walk daily, do any one physically activity daily i.e.play any game., Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take plenty of water in day time. And 1 glass of water before bed at night. use flax oil, omega-3 fatty meal or cap., take .green veg., whole grain. GARLIC,. Cod liver oil. Take anti cholesterol medicines . Cap. Your cholesterol level is within normal. However if you want to prevent it you do exercise and control diet avoid fry, fatty, fast food.

I had been having heartburn continuously for the past ten-twelve days and nights. Upon eating or drinking, I would also have pain in my upper mid-back while swallowing. I would slowly sip small amounts but even then it would pain. I was taking a very bland food almost no spices, oil or anything hot, even then there was heartburn. Because of heartburn, I kept sipping cold milk, curd or water every half hour or so throughout the day. I took all precautions available on net on do’s and don’ts but nothing helped. Then suddenly I felt cramp-like pain in the centre of my left palm. I exercised my fingers thinking it will improve but within half an hour of exercising, I was unable to use my hand because of unbearable excruciating pain. Application of Volini spray, Moov, or diclofenac, nothing helped. Finally I got crepe bandage tied and tried to go off to sleep. Next morning, I was perfectly fine and my heartburn and upper mid-back pain upon swallowing also disappeared. What was the connection? What caused this? Any answers. Was it pressure points? Please put some light on this issue. Thanks in advance.

It's very hard to tell. Because your pain in palm and your heart-burn in now way connected. According to accupressure there may be some pressure point. Or it just a normal thing which co inside. Bt be careful whenever your feeling this kind of heart-burn must visit your doctor. As it may be alarming symptom of heart-disease also. Keep it in mind.

What could be an instant home remedy for blood pressure over 100 systolic and 180 diastolic?

What could be an instant home remedy for blood pressure over 100 systolic and 180 diastolic?
Hi , Home remedies to Control high BP:-1. Bananas are one fruit that people with high blood pressure can eat regularly to control it. Bananas are a rich source of potassium, which lessens the effect of sodium. So, try to eat one or two bananas daily. Along with bananas, you can try dried apricots, raisins, orange juice, spinach, baked sweet potatoes. 2. Eat one or two crushed garlic cloves daily. You can simply crush them with your hands. Crushing garlic cloves creates hydrogen sulfide, a compound that promotes good blood flow, removes gas and reduces the pressure on the heart. If you do not like eating raw garlic or if it causes a burning sensation, then take it along with a cup of milk. You can also mix five or six drops of garlic juice in four teaspoons of water and take it twice a day.

I'am 25 year old, usually not take proper diet. Didn't had any health issue in past but last month I was having some chest pain in my chest while deep breath, cough, sneeze etc. As per my doctor i'am suffering form tuberculosis pleural effusion. He confirmed this by analysing x-ray and pleural fluid (approx 1litr fluid was collected from my chest) in which my A.D.A level was 83U/L. He prescribed me to take 4 akurit4 tablets (containing front line drug to cure tb) with empty stomach, to be taken before at least 2 hours from having breakfast. After 1 month of starting medicine course I did an ultrasound in which it is found that there is still 560 ml fluid present in my chest which will drain automatically as per doctor. Although i'am not having any serious pain but I have some query's in which I want expert opinions and my query's are -: 1: Is tuberculosis pleural effusion is communicable disease, should I need to stay away from my family and friends if so than for how much time? 2: Is it enough to conclude that someone is suffering from tuberculosis pleural effusion by only seeing x-ray and testing pleural fluid (by checking ADA level). 3: The drug i'am currently taking is good enough to treat this disease? 4: How much will it take to drain this fluid (560 ml) naturally? 5: Should I need do some test to confirm which tuberculosis is this, whether it is normal or mdr or any other before any further treatment? If there is any suggestion or prescription by your side please feel free to share. Please help me by answering the above query's if you can. I will be thankful for your kindness. Eagerly waiting for reply Thanks in advance.

TB is a communicable disease can spread to persons in close contact yes you should stay away from close contact of your family and friends till your cultures are negative. Yes composition of plueral effesion can be suggestive of tb, X ray is also very sensitive to rule out tuberculosis. Yes drugs are good enuogh follow the advise of your pulmonologist 300-500 ml fluid is mild collection of fluid it will absorb automatically in few months. Sputum culture ansd sensitivity ,sputum for afb ,TB gold should be done My suggestion is make a pdf file of all your invesstigation take pictures of all xrays, medicines you are on and get a full review ,we can not treat a serious problem just by making assumptions. IF you can not then follow advise of your respiratory medicine doctor take the full couse of medicine, TB will take months to settle down.

I am 49 m. Thyroid + cholesterol. Dr. Advised for 37.5 mg thyronorm + 20 mg atrovastatin daily. I wanted to have some ayurvedic medicine. Please advise.

General Physician,
How far ayurveda can help is doubtful and you may taking risk. Howeverr you have to check regularly and make sure you get good control.See the ayurveda line of treating, but you have to very careful before stopping allopathy and completely changing to this. Any further doubts in health, can be asked privately. Following are the Ayurvedic measures to control and maintain optimum cholesterol levels: Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Start your day with fresh fruits and grains such as oats that are high in soluble fiber. Minimize consumption of animal products including dairy products. This is because animal foods are high in saturated fatty acids and dietary cholesterol. Consume fish viz salmon, sardine and tuna as well as oysters, clams and mussels. These help lower LDL and improve HDL. Restrict consumption of Omega-6 rich oils such as corn oil and safflower oil. Instead, use olive oil, sesame oil and rapeseed oil that have ‘good fat’. Eat a lot of anti-oxidant foods such as strawberries, apples, nuts, carrots, broccoli and spinach. Use turmeric and curry leaves when cooking dishes. They have cholesterol lowering properties. Ayurvedic remedies to fight cholesterol: 1. Boil water with 2 tsp coriander seed. Strain and drink this water twice daily. It helps reduce cholesterol, flushes out toxins, and improves digestion. 2. Guggulu (Commiphora mukul) is effective in lowering cholesterol. Buy it from any reputed Ayurvedic store and use it as per instructions on the container. 3. Grill 1 or 2 small cloves of garlic and take it daily with your main meal. 4. Take 1 to 2 capsules per day of Arjun (Terminalia arjuna) extract available in a capsule form. Arjun is rich in co-enzyme Q-10 (CoQ10) that helps lower LDL cholesterol and enhances HDL recovery. Keep in personal touch.
