Hello, you may be having headache because of stress/ refractory problems/ any ENT problem or may be Migraine Headache follow advises given below: You can take(If No drug allergy) : 1. Tablet Crocin (Paracetamol 500 mg) one tablet after food when required for headache after food for 2-3 days (maximum 2 tablets with gap of 12 hour can be taken in a day) 2. Adequate sleep 6-8 hr in a day 3. Get check eyes for refractive error 4.We need to go for ENT evaluation to rule out sinusitis 5. Get BP checked 6. Regular physical exercise and meditation and yoga complete history of your headache for further management like duration, severity, aggravating factors/relieving/ triggering/ associated factor to reach diagnosis consult physician for further management.

Dear lybrate user, *for prevention of hair fall follow these instructions: *do not take a lot of stress and take proper sleep of 6 - 7 hours. Do meditation to destress yourself. You can do pranayams or take long deep breaths whlie closing your eyes I a peaceful environment for at least 8-10 minutes. * add protein containing items in your foods for healthy hair growth such as take a bowl of cereal daily and a glass of milk or 100 gm cheese or 1-2 eggs. * to reduce hairfall and whitening of hairs, practice yogasana like shirshasana and sarwangasana only under the guidance of expert. * you can use mahabhringraj oil and apply it 3 times in a week massage your scalp for 10 to 15 minutes daily. It increases blood circulation in your scalp and enhances hair growth. * avoid intake of any medicines because they cause toxicity & hairfall. * avoid the excess use of products such as hair colours or shampoo. * take vitamin-e rich foods like dry fruits (almonds, pista etc) daily. * take 1/2 teaspoon of amla powder with water once a day. * apply the egg yolk to the scalp atleast once a week. It gives nourishment to hair root and enhances hair growth. * checkout your thyroid profile & take proper treatment of thyroid disorder.

I am a 25 year old girl. I am having a problem related to my menstural cycle. I am having my menarche itself. Initially my periods last for about 15-20 days with heavy flow for about 1 week and sometimes even more than that. It stops only after taking medicine from a doctor. Later I contacted some other doctor who did all the tests and ultrasound but she didn't found any abnormality. She prescribed some iron supplements and a medicine named ovaral l. By taking that medicine continuously for 3 months my problem was solved. I was getting normal periods on every 5th day of the last pack of tablets. But after that I thought not to continue the tablets as it seems abnormal. Why I am not getting it in a natural way and also that tablet was a contraceptive so I got scared and asked my doctor if I can leave it. She told to leave and see. After leaving I was not getting periods at all for 2 -3 months. Then again I contacted my doctor that time she gave me another tablet named deviry. This was for starting my periods. After eating 5 tablets, my period got started. And end after 6 days. Which is normal. But again for 2-3 months I didn't got. Again I contacted then again she told me to take that tablet again. I did that and tha same thing happened. All normal. But now the situation became like I am not getting periods at all without that tablet even if I leave for 4 months. I feel it is totally unnatural way to get periods. It may affect my health and my further sexual life. Can you pls advice me how I can get my periods naturally or is there side effect of the tablets I have taken. And whether this will create problem in conceiving. I am going to get married by next ur. I want this problem to be solved before that. So that I won't get any complication in my pregnancy. Please advice.

Malaria is caused by a parasite called plasmodium vivax. It is transmitted by female anopheles mosquito. This is not an epidemic disease) symptoms of malaria 1. Intermittent high fever with chills 2. Profuse sweating 3. Headache, fatigue 4. Nausea, vomiting 5. Diarrhea 6. Anemia 7. Enlarged spleen 1. Take anti mosquito measures like use of mosquito net, mosquito repellent, 2. Spraying of insecticides in surrounding and keep it free from vegetation, 3. Wearing full sleeve shirts in the evening, 4. Discarding empty containers for collection of water and promoting mosquito breeding.

Your hair needs a high protein well-rounded diet. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hair and nails are both protein fibers. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress, current/past dandruff and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rain water and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Use a live in conditioner during the rains to protect it from the humidity and wash and oil it regularly to maintain a healthy scalp. I may also prescribe medications like biotin or minox. That are proven to help in hairgrowth and repair I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. Do health check up if you have hypothyroidism or other health related problem.Otherwise follow these.Do regular exercise like swimming,skipping,push up,sit ups,plank,yoga.Eat small amount of food.Avoid fast foods,junk foods,processed foods,sugar sweetened juice,soft drinks.Eat lots of watery fruits and beverages.Use unrefined foods.Take more protein for weight loss.Use healthy fat in cooking.Use lukewarm water after cooking.Drink lots of water specially before meals.Avoid smoking,alcohol.These gonna help you.

I am 36 year male suffering from pain just above angle in my right leg whenever I walk for more that 1 km. Also while walking I experience numbness & tightening in my right foot below ankle. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Hi lybrate-user, thanks for the query. As per your symptoms your are suffering from flatulent dyspepsia. To overcome these problem try these easy tips. 1. Eat more of fiber diet. Salads, fruits and sprouts will help a lot. 2. Keep a regular exercise schedule of min 20mins. This should include either fast walk or jog. 3. Do not eat at once. Keep a mini session at an interval of 4 hours. Do not increase the quantity of per day meal. Just break the meals in parts. 4. Drink a lot of water in between two meals. These will help a lot to get relieve from the bloating. But for food sensitivity I would suggest go for homoeopathy. We have good set of remedies for the food allergies. Feel free to ask more.

How to avoid daytime sleepiness

A lot of people, irrespective of whether they go out to work, to college or stay at home, feel sleepy during the day. Some out of fatigue, some because of having a heavy lunch and some others because they do not get a good night?s sleep. Whatever be the reason, a few exercises and some discipline can help you get rid of such sleep cravings.

Few ways to avoid daytime sleepiness are:

1. Set a routine: Try to go to sleep and wake up at about the same time every day. This resets your circadian rhythm and helps developing your sleeping pattern.

2. At least 30 minutes of workout is important for every individual. Go for walks, go to the gym, take up yoga or aerobics - regardless of the kind of exercise you are doing. When the body gets exercise, so does the brain and you are refreshed to take on the rest of the day.

3. Go to bed gadget free: Keep your books, mobile, tab, laptop and TV remote away from the bed. Stay calm and do not have heated conversations. Your nerves need calm down as you to sleep.

4. Get enough sleep: Ensure you sleep enough every night so that it doesn?t ruin your day. Night time sleep is important and adults need seven to nine hours of sleep.

5. Set consistent, healthy mealtimes: Regular mealtimes, eating a healthy breakfast and lunch on time prevents energy deficits during the day that will help you get rid of daytime sleepiness

6. Avoid alcohol: Having alcohol in high amount may hamper your regular sleeping pattern and you may be sleepy the whole day.

7.Avoid Self-Medication: Avoid taking sleeping pills or over the counter the drugs. There are different kinds of drugs available in the market. Some may make you sleepy the whole day due to hangover effect of the drug.

8. Consult a Physician or a sleep specialist.

Hye, Thanks for the query. Firstly understand that weight gain is very dependent on genetics and metabolism along with your daily diet and exercise routine. It is important to know that just eating just two heavy meals a day will not help. Weight gain is all about taking more calories than you burn. Eating the right foods at the right time is very important. There is no one food that helps weight gain. Eat meals at frequent intervals. You need to eat at least 6 main and mid meals a day. Eat a mid meal between each main meal. Avoid junk foods. Include dairy, eggs, nuts, fruits, dry fruits, starchy vegetables, rice, bread, whole grain cereals, smoothies, masala milk, ghee, cream in your meals. Just eating sugary, sweet foods is not good. Try to have healthy deserts like kheer, chikki or lassi. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Exercise at least thrice a week. It helps development of muscle mass and improves appetite.  Even if you were to take just medicines or supplements they will not work in isolation. You need to have a calorie and nutrient dense meal and good exercise routine, it's crucial.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi, according to your height your weight is high. Your ideal body weight is 63 to 65. Ok you should go for brisk walk in the morning. Do regular exercise atleast 15 minutes. Take lukewarm water with lemon in the morning. Take sprouts, fruits and vegetables. Eat salad before meals. Drink more water in a day. Don't take rice at night.(thrice a week) take small and frequent meals. Avoid junk and oily food.

Give up sugar and sweets if not done so far, only healthy fats like a katori of assorted nuts to get good fats + proteins. Lots of seasonal vegetables and fruits but eating according to constitution e g it is not a must to eat sprouts if it leads to distention. Clear soups of pulses like moong, kale chane. Besan is good and it can be mixed with wheat flour to add on proteins and to reduce calories. Fresh juice of a lemon + 1 spoon of honey with warm water, if taken on empty stomach does reduce weight, bad fats and sugar in blood. Calories of honey can be compensated by taking 1 chapati less. Reduce carbs anyway but do take whole fruits, never mind the sugar content in whole fruits, look at the fresh vitamins & minerals. No juices or fizzy drinks. Light exercises loke walking helps the heart and burns extra sugar. Level of sugar is on borderline at 140 for fasting, upper limit is 120- it means that you are already taking good care of him. Keep it up and be careful about other factors responsible for a good heart- no smoking or exposure to pollution, no bad fats like transfats even occassionally for a party.

Hello, Gaining weight is a slow process which requires patience and dedication! The food what and how you eat, makes the difference! For increasing your weight, concentrate on the below points ( if you don’t have any medical condition) which helps in gaining weight in a right way without harming your body. - Consume more healthy fats. Foods containing healthy fats are full of nutrients and also high in calories, making them a great option for weight gain. Foods containing plant fats should be your first option - this includes items such as nuts, seeds, peanut butter, avocados and olive oil. Foods containing healthy animals fats include lean meats and full fat dairy products - although if you have high cholesterol, you should probably stick to low-fat options. -Eat more protein. Good sources of protein include lean meat, fish and poultry, in addition to eggs, whole grains, dairy products and legumes. -Drink more calories. Try drinking a large glass of orange juice in the mornings (along with your normal breakfast). Drink a glass or two of full-cream milk throughout the day.Protein shakes will help you to gain muscle mass, particularly if you're working out. -Have 6 small and frequent meals in a day. -Gain muscle mass. It's a good idea to continue to exercise while you attempt to gain weight the healthy way. Strength training includes working with weights and performing exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bicep curls, crunches, chin-ups and leg curls. Just keep in mind that the more you exercise, the more calories you will need to consume to replace those you lost while working out. This is where protein shakes and bars really come in handy. -Quit smoking. As it suppresses the appetite. -Stay healthy. The most important thing through the entire weight gain process is to stay healthy - eating a balanced diet and continuing to exercise throughout. -Take enough of rest and sleep for rejuvenation of the cells and tissues. -Think Positive which will help you in achieving your target of gaining weight. -Avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos., both thrice daily ½ an hour before meals for 1month.

There is in ayurveda mention pinda swed .it is a type of swedan karma [phomentation] but it do some another manner. 1.boiled a rice in milk then take this rice in one white cloth then tied it properly and warmly it rub on your face every morning for 15 days then stop it and do next month again 2.apply almond oil on your face and massage for 3-5 min at night. By doing above thing you will get good result.
