Hi lybrate-user I will be able to give conclusion about your scar removal only after inspection of your skin and case taking. Kindly give details in private consult. Height optimum has almost reached in your case (21-23 years). Swimming is useful in increasing height and reducing weight as well. If weight is not the issue in your case, you can manage it with proper diet.

My baby is 2 month old. She does sleep. She controls her sleep. She falls off to sleep when I am breastfeeding her. The minute I take nipple out of her mouth she wakes up. Is it ok to give her a pacifier to put her to sleep and let the pacifier be in her mouth till she wakes up?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Do not use a pacifier and it is normal for infants to fall asleep while feeding and it is a bit tiresome for mothers and is the pain of motherhood. You wake her up scratching foot or neck and continue to feed.

Hi drink some bitter gourd juice on an empty stomach each morning. First remove the seeds of two to three bitter gourds and use a juicer to extract the juice. Add some water and then drink it. Follow this treatment daily in the morning for at least two months. Take pranacharya diabeto and shilajeet capsule twice a day with water. Take vasant kusumakar ras twice a day. Avoid sweets. Please tell me what is the diet for hypothyroidism. Soya oil and soya milk is or soyabean is cause or affect for hypothyroidism.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
There is no special diet for hypothyroidism, but certain foods should be avoided or taken sparingly. Soya beans and soya containing products are to be avoided along with vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, mustard and coffee. Other vegetables can be taken, plus whole grain flours and breads made out of that are good. Iodinated salt should be used. Since you also have high bp salt intake also should be less. Soya does not cause the condition but it can aggravate it. Plus prescribed medication must be taken without a break.

I am 50 yr. Old man and a diabetic patient with maximum sugar level of 140 after meals and on taking metformin-500 twice daily. My Blood pressure remains 146/100 in morning with pulse rate of 67-70 / per minute. Sir, which medicine should I take to control my diastolic pressure? At present I am taking amlodipine 5mg. With 12.5% hydrochlorothiazide, but of no benefits. I have now stopped taking tobacco for the last 5-6 days.

MBBS
General Physician, Cuttack
1.Your blood sugar is under control, continue with metformin tablet 2.Your Bp is not under control. The combination of amlodepine with hydrochlorothiazide is effective in controlling Bp. 3.Continue for some days, reduce your salt intake, control your diet, go for regular exercise. 4.Monitor your BP and if still it is not controlled, consult physician for alternative medicine like Telmasatan with amlodepine
