Which type of food is good for health in winter season and can we eat more oily food in winter season.

Hye, Thanks for the query.  Winter is the time when your immunity is low. The body's metabolism is also low as the body wants to conserve energy. It's that one time when you feel lazy to hit the gym and want to reach out for comfort foods like pastries or salty foods. Try to avoid refined flours and go for whole grains like wheat, bajra, nahi.  Avoid simple sugars in excess. Include at least 3 to 5 servings of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Include a protein source in each meals like dal,  pulses, dairy, nuts etc. Drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day. Include healthy fats like ghee, nuts, dairy in your diet. You need not necessarily have oily foods regularly especially if it's outside junk food. Include hot soups, kheer,  kanjis, dal pani etc in your diet.  Exercise at least 3 times a week.

Sir my wife is 52 years old and a diabetic with not much sugar. From last 15 days she is suffering with breathlessness. She complaints that in the left nose the bulgam is drying and problem starts. Shown to all the concern doctors in bangalore but they say every thing is normal e. G lungs functioning normal, nose is OK heart functioning is ok. Doctors say that it is because of anxiety. She is doing meditation now to get rid of breathlessness. But everything is normal then why again the short of breath is persisting?

Okkk this is a diabetes complication. As organs it damages mind also. It gives drpression and anxiety. Do not worry ask her to do more exercises preferably regular morning walk. Have some camphor in handkercheif and take the smell regularly. If its not resolved consult me privately.

Hello, Thanks for the query. It appears excess smoking for years may affected lung capacity, hence the breathlessness. There may be emphysema developing. Get a physician's opinion. Thanks.

I will suggest you to Get your blood checked for CBC creatine and follow up with reports and than we will decide on the need for supplements.

1. Consider this as a health emergency, and alter your food habits and lifestyle immediately. 2. You are still in the range where positive healthy changes to your habits can bring these parameters down to a manageable level and you will not have to take medicines. 3. Diabetes is a serious health malady that can effect every organ of your body from eyes to toe. Do not take these test results lightly 4. Reduce weight by at least 10 kgs by better diet and you will see a reduction in sugar and cholesterol both. 5. Better to consult a dietician who can help you with a customised diet program to reduce weight + reduce sugar and cholesterol. 6. Take action at the earliest and take charge of your health 7. You need to take full responsibility for your body, your choices and your health.

I had acne since 15 years old. It was worse back then, however after a lot of allopathy and homeopathy. It has reduced. Now I don't take any medication for this but the skin has sensitized. I get white cystic acne o my head, nose and a lot on my both lower jaw lines. I have large pores, combination skin. During winter worsens. Flakes, red rashes, cystic acne and summer becomes more oily with boils. I only have good skin during spring. My face itches, becomes red with white acne and scars trouble. please I want to get my skin clear completely.

You are a victim of acne vulgaris and it's sequelae like most people your age. It's a very common problem with a lot of solutions. These acne pimples if broken leave really dark marks. So steer clear from them. Don't pick at them. Avoid cosmetics and over the counter face products. Overwashing won't remove pimples or spots. You need to use cold water and wash face with a salicylic acid containing wash twice a day and not more. It will help reduce the oiliness to a large degree. Avoid milk and milk products, you can have them occasionally. Instead, you can have tea or coffee. Do not stress over your problem its treatable. Stress vil only increase chances of more pimples. Exercise. You can practice meditation, it vil take your mind of your problem and create all the right chemicals in you. Have fruits with a high vitamin a content (such as broccoli, papaya, spinach and carrots) as this helps to flush acne-causing proteins from the system, and with high vitamin e and c contents (oranges, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, avocados) which have antioxidant effects and help to calm the skin. Have adequate amount of water. Include nuts like almond, walnuts. Avoid milk and milk products like butter, cheese as well as refined flour items and sugary drinks. It needs long term treatment for a minimum of at least six months.

You need to take high fiber low fat diet followed by detox diet. Drink lot of water everyday. Take small and frequent meals at regular intervals of 2-3 hrs. Avoid outside food completely. Ask me privately for customized diet plan for you.

Hi firstly, start doing surya namaskar in morning and start eating triphla chooran (natural medicine) in morning empty stomach with luke warm water. Start a fruit dieting every alternative day, means you have to eat fruits every alternative days & normal fruit every other alternative days. Avoid late night dinners and try to eat nothing after sunset. Sit in vajrasana after every meal you eat for 10 minutes. Walk atleast 30 min in morning.
