Dear lybrate user, rest, sit in chair with back support, use hot pack, ointment, back stretching exercise, avoid forward bending. Heavy weight lifting. Use hard bed. Change working habit.

Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Knee joint is very complex joint made by 3 bones - femur, tibia, fibula and knee cap - patella. Several ligaments, cartilage and menisci are covered all around. So pain in knee joint may be due to several reasons. In your case the pain may be due to some internal injury like cartilage etc for which you are not aware or there may be knee arthritis as it is very common these days or may be due to deficiency of vitamins or uric acid. So in general I would advise you to please go for proper investigation so that the reason can be diagnosed. In the mean time to get relief from pain and stiffness please follow the physio measures: precautions- 1. Avoid prolong standing. Standing on one leg or running for time being if its painful. 2. Take care while bending your knees, it should not directly strain your joint. 3. Avoid heavy weight lifting. 4. Wear shoes with good arch support, do not wear high -healed shoes. 5. Use the correct positions during activities so that you do not strain your muscles. 6. Try to change your sitting position every 15 min so that it should not give strain on your knees. 7. Avoid sitting on floor with both knees bending. 8. Take diet rich in calcium like milk, dairy products, banana etc which will enhance your calcium and gives you strength. Treatment - 1. Use of cold or hot packs which ever suits you - apply ice or hot pack to the painful area and massage for near about 10 minutes. Make a habit for doing atleast twice a day initially. 2. After this using your thumb massage your knee area gently. Exercises include: 1. Quads isometrics. 2. Hamstrings isometrics. 3. Slr - straight leg raising 4. Bridging do not do single leg bridging if pain is very severe. 5. Knee bending lying or supine position. 6. Heel raising 7. Step ups 8. Lunge 9. Squatting you can do the above treatment plan it will give you pain relief. But if you face severe pain while doing the exercises then stop doing and apply some talcum over knee, with thumb massage your knee area slightly and gently. Get well soon. Good luck.

Your age is 23 so in young age joint pain means either vitamim b12 or d3 deficiancy. Check uric acid too.

For leg pain, please follow the below advise: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

My mom is getting pains in the joints specially hand n back. Even if she does a little heavy work it's starts paining. Her age is abt 50 yrs. If she is under medications the pain goes away temporarily but as soon as the period for medications is over it start over again. Kindly suggest what need to be done.

Do the cat/cow avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana.

It might be of muscle strain or of pathological reasons do consult neuro physiotherapist and take ift and laser therapy for 12 days of 15 minutes duration each followed by spinal extension exercise.

Thank you for writing to us. Please note the following for your condition: rest your foot. Do heel and foot muscle stretches. Take over-the-counter pain relievers. Wear shoes with good arch support and a cushioned sole. If this does not relieves then consult me. Thanks.

Do take ift and laser therapy for pain relief for 10 days followed by strengthening and spinal extension exercise from neuro physiotherapist use firm hard and even mattress for sleep with balanced diet or do come back with detailed reports for further assistance best wishes.

Go for fasting once a week. You can go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid diet to digest ama (toxin). Fasting should be followed by hot fomentation or by taking a bath with lukewarm water or steam bath. After fasting and fomentation, mix powdered long pepper, black pepper and dried ginger in equal quantities and take 1 teaspoon of this powdered mix with lukewarm water twice a day. This will help you restore your digestive fire. Take one tablespoon of castor oil before going to bed, once or twice a week. It helps in cleansing ama (toxin) build up and balancing vata. Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling.

I had shoulder pain. I consulted doctor. He gave medications. I took them for 1 month. After stopping them, the pain started again. Now, there is so much of pain that it starts to travel from shoulder to hand (till elbow). My hand do not move backwards from the shoulder part. U may be having some spinal problem, or core muscle weakness which causes this pain as the back muscles get fatigued easily while doing the act. You need to do few exercises for strengthening your back muscles and follow some guide for maintaining proper posture, not only during sex but during other activities. Also, change or modify the way/ the position which you use mostly during the act, and see if changing the position causes no pain afterwards.

Hi I can understand your problem. # relax & stay positive. # take hot and cold foementation. # change sleeping position. # use lumber support. # take break every 20 minutes. # do strengthening exercise of back and core muscles not all back pains are same, you need specific treatment plan according to your symptoms.
