Is 27 cc volume for prostate for 28 years guy is something to worry about is this could go into prostate enlargement or prostatitis and does it require medical advice or it is some sort bacterial Information.

Is 27 cc volume for prostate for 28 years guy is something to worry about is this could go into prostate enlargement ...
Ultrasound is an observer dependent study. Although it gives an approximate estimation of prostate size, merely the size of the prostate doesn`t determine management. As long as you do not have any symptoms related to prostate like increased frequency of urination, urgency, nocturia, hesitancy, intermittent stream of urine, straining at urination, nothing needs to be worried about. Anyways you are only 28 years old, and the symptoms of prostate enlargement usually start appearing from the age of early 40`s. Please do not worry Hope this helps Thanks.

It will be more helpful if you share your symptoms in more detail, so as to get a better understanding about the medical condition you might be having. At your age a detailed history of pre-existing medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension etc are very important for precise management. If you are certain about the fact that you are having a problem related to prostate gland, get an usg of kubp region done to determine the size of prostate and also the conditions of your kidney and the urinary tract. Some blood investigations also need to be done to ascertain the functional aspects of your genitourinary system. Depending on the results, conclusion about further management (whether surgical or medical) drawn. Consult privately with me with detailed reports for medications to control your condition.

It's a low risk prostate cancer. We need to first stage disease do PSA levels and risk stratify if it is very low risk we can take up surveillance. If moderate or high risk. We may have to consider surgery or radical radiotherapy.

There are few points to note here the whole sample is to be reviewed to see if there is any high grade component mitosis 2-3 per hpf suggests low grade but extensive necrosis suggests high grade if the pathologist is sure it's low grade then no chemo is required if pathologist says there is a high grade component then you require adjuvant chemotherapy with three cycles of Taxanes and platinum also make sure your pre op staging and surgery was complete CA 125 also to be noted.

Oncologist, Mumbai
Hello, I have seen the pet-ct report of your father. It is not liver cancer but mets in the liver and lungs. The treatment of liver cancer and cancer that has mets in the liver is completely different. Tata memorial hospital, mumbai remains the apex institute for the treatment of cancer in india. Also, you may consult at sgpgi, lucknow since it is good and close to your home too.

Hi doctor. I would like to know about breast cancer, what is it? it's causes? symptoms etc..

MD - Radiation Oncology, MBBS, Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases (DTCD)
Oncologist, Delhi
Breast cancer as the name suggests is cancer that starts in breast. It generally starts with a small lump in the breast. If not treated on time can progress to involve the whole breast and may even spread to other parts of body. No specific cause but increase exposure to hormones, not breastfeeding children, having late children, postmenopausal hormone therapy, obesity etc are some of the known risk factors.

Hi Dr. Am having fabric in my right breast. And its paining from last 2 days. Is this normal, please suggest.

MBBS, MD - Radiotherapy, DM - Medical Oncology
Oncologist, Hyderabad
Hello Ms. lybrate-user, I presume you are having "fibroid" in the right breast. It could be fibroadenoma or fibroadenosis ,both of which are benign. They may be occasionally painful especially before the monthly menstrual cycle which is normal. They can be managed with medicines and supportive care. They are common benign conditions in women in this age group.
