Hello lybrate-user Yes it is good for diaper rash. Apply it gently -do not rub. Also give some diaper free period after every 2 hours so that the area gets proper air. Take care.

I am suffering from gair thinning and hair loss. I have used minoxidil 5% for approx 5 months and applied it once daily as my dermatologist prescribed me. Now I have found it's not working so I have stopped using it from last week. My my hair fall got increased now. What should I do in this situation? Should I continue using minoxidil 5 % or I switch to minoxidil and finasteride topical solution? Please clear my doubts before my head get cleared.

Hello lybrate-user Do not stop using minoxidil. I will have to see the type of balding after giving you further instructions. We may need to add something to minoxidil for your treatment. You may start a private consult for that. Take care.

Acne Myths!

Acne Myths!

Myths vs facts:
Myth: junk food causes acne.

Fact: there is no correlation between junk food/oily food/spicy food with acne.

There is, however, a recent evidence connecting foods having high glycemic index with triggering of acne. These foods include-white rice, sugary drinks, sweets-items that can raise the blood sugar and insulin levels quickly.
This said they need not be completely restricted.

Infant Skin Care!

The most important key to good infant skin care is -moisturize moisturize and more moisturize!

  • No amount of moisture is more moisture for an infant since infant skin, though mature functionally, takes time to mature structurally.
  • The lipids in the skin that provide moisture are relatively less in infant skin and so they require more external moisturisers.
  • Select moisturisers which have liquid paraffin, white paraffin and sometimes calamine (especially in summer)

P. S-moisturising just after a bath after pat drying is the best thing to do for your infant's skin.

MD - Dermatology

What Are Freckles?
Freckles-
They usually occur in fair skinned people due to increased activity of pigment producing cells.
Fair skin is extremely sensitive to sun. Hence, fair skinned people must be very generous in using sunscreen.
Freckles are very much treatable by a combination of laser treatments and a few creams.

Hello lybrate-user I understand your concern. Urticaria is a chronic problem. It is very difficult to predict its course. It might stop anytime or may continue for lifetime. What we can do is find out the cause and try to avoid it. I can help you with that .I need to ask you a few details. You may start an online consultation for that. Take care.

Hello lybrate-user I understand your problem. Tretin 0.05% is mild for treating acne and spots. You need a stronger treatment. Tretin can be used as a maintenance cream. I will need to see your face so that I can prescribe the proper medication. You may start an online consult for that. Meanwhile you can use a good gel based sunscreen to protect your skin from sun. Take care:)

I have black spots and dark patches on my face. If I did TCA peel means all my dark spots will get rid off? And again the spots will not come to my face? How many peels I should undergo for improvement. I am a wheatish brown skin.

Hello lybrate-user TCA peel can work well on spots and scars. I will have to see your skin in order to advice if you require it or no. You may start an online consult for that. Please get the peels done under the supervision of Dermatologist. TCA peels are deep peels and can be strong in the skin. Take proper sun protection along with it. Take care:)
