Psoriasis - How Ayurveda Helps to Treat it?

Psoriasis can be defined as a skin condition, which is caused due to autoimmune disorders within the body. This is a condition where the skin on the body develops raised and dry areas which are reddish in colour while also being bordered by silvery scales. 

Treatment of psoriasis in Ayurveda: Ayurveda has a different slant to conventional medicine with regards to the treatment of psoriasis. According to Ayurveda, it is the impurities in the blood, which cause the immune system to react adversely and cause this condition. Ayurveda concentrates on treating the underlying problems through the combination of changes in diet, home remedies and certain medications to treat this disorder. Some of them are mentioned below:

Changes in diet which will help purify the symptoms
Some advice that is usually given to patients to clean up their diet and include certain other items are as follows:

  1. Avoid spicy food and try to eat food, which can be easily broken down within the digestive system
  2. Inclusion of more fruits and fruit juices in your diet
  3. Also include vegetables and also have a mix of boiled vegetables daily.
  4. It is better to avoid animal products such as animal fats, eggs, canned and processed foods from your diet.
  5. Regular consumption of butter milk and curd are known to be very good in blood purification and thus should be consumed in large quantities. 

Some Ayurvedic tips and ingredients, which can help treat psoriasis

Other tips that can be implemented as skin applications to treat psoriasis are as follows: 

  1. Use avocado oil to rub on the affected areas as it is known to be an effective treatment when applied long term.
  2. Ensure that the skin is always moisturized by applying a soft, cream or gel.
  3. Periodic baths in sea water if possible is also good for lessening the symptoms of psoriasis.
  4. Aloe vera cream applied specifically on the patches is known to also lessen them overtime.

Few other tips to follow:

  1. Get into deep breathing and meditation to ensure that your body and mind are relaxed as this is very important during the healing process
  2. Expose the affected areas of your skin to mild sunlight for about half an hour daily as it is known to improve symptoms.

Stomach ache stems from multiple reasons, ranging from indigestion and gastric imbalances to cramps of some sorts. Stomach ache can cause a lot of discomfort and agitation and it usually calls for immediate respite. Most prominent causes of stomach pains are related to digestive troubles and therefore the remedy should be directed at rectifying that.

While the market is flooded with all sorts of antidotes for stomach ailment and digestive system issues, they more often than not simply provide temporary relief and does nothing long term per se. In that regard, Ayurveda can prove extremely beneficial because it purifies the system from within and provides a lasting cure to disorders, such as stomach pains. Cough is the natural reflex action of a human being to clear the throat or breathing passage from obstructions by foreign particles. Whooping cough or pertussis can be identified by the whooping sound that accompanies cold cough. Whooping cough is caused due to bacterial infection or through transmission from the infected person.

The following are few symptoms of whooping cough:

  1. Runny nose and frequent sneezing
  2. Cough accompanied by a whooping sound
  3. Frequent vomiting
  4. Nasal congestion
  5. Fever
  6. Sore throat
  7. Fatigue

Whooping cough must be cured since it can pose serious health hazards for both children and adults and at times can even turn out to be life threatening. Ayurveda can effectively heal whooping cough naturally. The

Following are few simple steps offered by ayurveda for treating whooping cough:

  1. Honey: This is the most common and effective remedy suggested for whooping cough. Take a tablespoon of honey and mix it in a glass of lukewarm water to experience fast relief.
  2. Avoid smoking: Smoking makes whooping cough worse. So you must take care to quit the habit of smoking.
  3. Castor oil: Castor oil is also a remedy for whooping cough offered by ayurveda.
  4. Ginger juice: Ginger juice is a very effective remedy for curing whooping cough. You may mix the juice with honey or herbal tea.
  5. Aloe Vera juice: Aloe vera juice mixed with honey is considered to be a cure for whooping cough in ayurveda.
  6. Cloves: Sometimes cloves can also offer very fast relief from continuous coughing.
  7. Tulsi leaves: Tulsi leaves are also considered to be a very effective cure for whooping cough according to ayurveda.
  8. Breathing exercises: Practicing breathing exercises regularly can also give you relief from whooping cough.

Mothers, universally, have been faithful torchbearers of the benefits of milk. Cow, buffalo, camel or soy, milk happens to be an indispensable part of your diet. Instead of taking age old conventions for granted a little bit of thought into your food can improve your health. Usually, most households consume cow milk.

  5. It will make up for your mineral deficiency: Calcium, potassium, magnesium and phosphorus are some of the minerals this milk contains. It helps to strengthen your bones and teeth thus, protecting you against osteoporosis.

Hi thanks for asking your query 1) tk 1/2 tsp bhrigaraja pow + 1/2 tsp aamla pow mix n drink with warm water 2) 1 tsp black seasme seed chew in the morning 3) neeli brigadhi oil apply on scalp n massage well 4) avoid salty, spicy n maida products 5) wash your hair with cold water. Avoid hot water for washing head 6) hv atleast 3 lit of water everyday 7) hv 8 hrs of sleep @night avoid late night eat n sleep thanku.

Hi thanks for asking your query headaches are due to mainly irregularity in meals, improper metabolism, mental and physical stress, viewing of tv for long periods, reading with insufficient light, sleeplessness, etc. So try to avoid triggering factors 1) include cooked vegetables without oil in your diet 2) vegetable juices and soup, fruits and fruit juices including apple, mango. 3) highly-fruit based diet for a day or two can relieve pain. 4) grapes, lemons, cabbage juice are especially important. 5) have rice, salad and buttermilk in your diet thanku.

Hi thanks for asking your query maintaining regular time for going to bed. Avoid seeing excited pictures at night. Avoid smoking, tea, coffee or alcohol at night before going to sleep. Not indulge in any type of work or reading till late night. Should devoid of thoughts tensions before going to bed. Hearing soft music or favorite songs also induces sleep. 5-10 minutes mediation before going for sleep offering prayer before sleep. Washing of hand, feet and face before goes to sleep avoid of day sleep proper evacuation of stool and urine avoid mosquito bites maintain privacy drink buffalo milk + khas khas thanku.

Don't finish your meals too fast 4) avoid cold water, ice cream, chocolate 5) eat freshly home made food only. Don't eat leftover refrigerator food 6) do 10 suryanamskar n try to increase d number 7) don't eat n sleep late night 8) gandharva haritaki churna 1 tsp+ 1 glass of warm water drink @night 9) avoid aerated drinks n alcohol. Strat buttermilk, nimbupani. 10) hv some nuts in your pocket for munching when your in outdoor thanku.

Hiii lybrate-user thanks for asking your query it caused by aggravation of kapha, weak digestion, exposure to cold or humid conditions or cold air. 1) body should be kept warm especially feet, chest, throat and head. Sweating is very helpful. 2) drink hot spice tea or some other hot drink and lie down on the bed. Take some warm cover like blanket and let the body sweat for 15 to 20 min 3) avoid cold drinks, ice cream, sweets, yogurt, cheese etc 4) eat a timely lunch and an early dinner for good digestion 5) sleep on tym 6) tribhuvankirti 1-0-1 7) mix 1/2 tea spoon of sitopladi churna with honey and lick it two to three times per dy 8) hv himalaya tulsi cough syrup 2-2-2 thanks.

To increase height- 1) portin, vit n calcium intke should b increased for overall growth of body 2) hv orange, papaya, lemon, egg, fish, nuts 3) do yoga like tadasan, parvatasan, vajrasan 4) sleep 8 hrs @night thanku.
