My mother have 2 big and 2 small fibroids in the uterus. Can it be dangerous for the health? and is there any chances of converting it into the cancer?

MBBS, MD Obs & Gynae, FNB Reproductive Medicine
Gynaecologist, Jalandhar
Very little chance. 50% of females have fibroids these need intervention only if they cause symptoms like pressure effects or excessive bleeding. She can do yearly scans to find out if they are increasing in size if not they will shrink when she attains menopause.

lybrate-user, It is better if you consult a surgeon regarding the problem with breast. If need be that lump can be removed, which a surgeon will be able to decide. Since you are on treatment for hypothyroidism, to be free of all symptoms related to that condition TSH should be around 3 to 4 mU/L. Also get a prolactin test done. Thanks.

During six years if you have taken hormonal oral pills for contraceptive, it may take few months to ward off effects of medicines if you had intrauterine device fitted, get a tube test done just after periods and this test is diagnostic and therapeutic by telling you about the blocks in tubes and clearing tiny blocks if present due to mucous collected in tubes if none of above is applicable in your case, give nature a chance or take fertility tablets under supervision of doctors only.

U need to wait till 7 days after the missed period. If negative then keep repeating it every week till you get menses. You have to read it within 5 min of putting the urine and even faint second line is positive. If you r pregnant then menses will not come with medicine also and if you r not pregnant, menses will come definitely. So wait till 20th march to do the urine test, if menses does not come by that time.
