Health Benefits - Fruits vs Dry Fruits

Health Benefits - Fruits vs Dry Fruits

It is said that dehydrated fruits offer same health benefits as that of fresh fruits, but differ slightly in mineral and vitamin content. Both fresh and dried fruits will provide you with fiber and antioxidants, which are beneficial for your health; however dried fruits usually lose a small percentage of their vitamins during the process of dehydration.

When you compare fresh and dried fruits, it’s great to make use of the standard serving sizes, which are 1 cup of fresh fruit and ¼ cup of dried fruit.

But when fruits lose their water content and eventually volume during the drying process, their sugar, calorie and nutrient content become concentrated. So when you consume a handful of dried fruits, there is an in-take of more calories than you would if you consumed that same quantity of fresh fruits.

Besides giving you a variety in taste and health benefits, both fresh fruits and dehydrated fruits have their own significance.

For instance, whereas dry fruits can offer you portability and a longer shelf life; fresh fruit as opposed to dry fruits contain higher amount of minerals and hence is a more nutritious choice than dried fruits.

If you are keeping a close watch on your weight, then dried fruits should not be eaten much as they contain considerably more calories in each serving than the fresh fruits. Dried fruits that contain sugar additives are high in calorie content, but the ones with low calorie content offer numerous health rewards:

- Antioxidants

There are some dried fruits which are a rich source of antioxidants, the Journal of the American College of Nutrition revealed. For instance, Phenol an antioxidant-type is found more in dried fruits such as figs and dates than in fresh fruits.

- High Fiber

Dried fruits are usually high in fiber content than the equal-sized serving of the fresh fruits. Fiber helps in running our digestive system smoothly and prevents obesity as well as cancer and heart disease.

Do this-- 1. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). 2. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. 3. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 4. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 5. Maintain active life style 6. Avoid fast foods n fried foods 7.Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 8. Drink lot of water 10. Everyday preferably sleep on same time Eating every 2 hours increases basal metabolic rate also. If you follow this over a period of time you will see that your intake of food has decreased Exercise in the form of yoga, cycling, Swimming, gymming, walking etc. If you don’t want to lose strength also then I would advise you to do strength training exercises in gym. No it’s not tough- you need to do only twice a week. That too for 50 mins at a time. If that’s not possible start with single day For more details you can consult me.

If I am not wrong then it is lipoma.. Lipoma in most case Benign(means not harmful).. The only thing is they can increase in number and can appear anywhere on body... and sometimes they increase in size... giving bad look.. So better treat it in time with homoeopathic medicine.. it can stop the progress... and there are chances that they will disappear if treatment continued longer enough...

Is it ok to take B12 Supplements with the dosages of Amitone-10 and Galop-5? Please suggest.

Is it ok to take B12 Supplements with the dosages of Amitone-10 and Galop-5?
Please suggest.
Hi lybrate-user Talk to your doctor before you take a vitamin supplement. Keep in mind, the role of B vitamins in depression isn't clear. If you have a vitamin deficiency, taking a supplement may help. But no supplement can replace proven depression treatments such as antidepressants and psychological counseling. The best way to make sure you're getting enough B-12 and other vitamins is to eat a healthy diet that includes sources of essential nutrients. Vitamin B-12 is plentiful in animal products such as fish, lean meat, poultry, eggs, and low-fat and fat-free milk. Fortified breakfast cereals also are a good source of B-12 and other B vitamins. Vitamin B-12 and other B vitamins play a role in producing brain chemicals that affect mood and other brain functions. Low levels of B-12 and other B vitamins such as vitamin B-6 and folate may be linked to depression.

Hello, diabetes mellitus when present for long time and if not well controlled causes a number of chronic complications including peripheral neuropathy. This condition produces pricking and burning sensation in feet. One of the prime requirement is strict blood sugar control like fasting around 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg and hba1c%<6.8. Consistently well controlled diabetes may not produce serious consequences. Plus to reduce the symptoms there are some medications available like methylcobalamine & combinations with other vitamins, plus other drugs. The very concept of heat in the body causing various problems it self is incorrect. Our body is warm, if any extra heat is produced that comes as fever. Thanks for the question.

For 5.3 weight shoud be 50-55 is enough cutt down soda & junk food to a huge minimal. -drink 1/2 to 1 gallon of water daily. Drink 2 glasses of water before a meal to curb your appetite. -eat lots of fresh veggies & fruits -take the stairs when you can. -heavy deep breathing. -b 12 vitamins help promote weight loss I also took a fat burning supplement called simerex-ex with ephedra extract. A lot of people are against'diet pills, however this supplement helped me to lose weight, gain energy, & help with regular bowel movements. There is no miracle cure. Your increase weight is due to your medicines. I advise you to do meditation for mental strength by doing slow and deep breathing relaxation exercises in the morning. Take proper balanced vegetarian diet. Take 8 to 10 glasses of water daily. Avoid garlic and red chilly at home and avoid non veg and eggs keep your weight normal by doing exercises of your problem areas and taking more proteins and less fats and carbohydrates.
