My advice is that you seek counseling help even now to prevent any relapse and to learn new skills, tools, and techniques to otherwise cope. Then you could talk to your doctor about tapering off your medication.

Hello lybrate-user, I will give you a different approach. Is it really necessary to forget that person whom you loved? Can you accept him to have been a part of your life and then decide to move on? Once you accept, you will not be so distracted with his thoughts and it might be easier to concentrate on the work at hand. Apart from this, time is the biggest healer. So be gentle to yourself, give yourself some time and you will see that the intensity of feelings will reduce. I wish you well.

I am having hallucination for a week like someone is calling me and I feel like something is happening around me but which has not really happened .is it a serious issue .can you suggest me what should I go should I go for a counselling or is it nothing to worry about?

I am having hallucination for a week like someone is calling me and I feel like something is happening around me but ...
Hi lybrate-user, after reading your question I want to ask you how many hours do you sleep? One of the reasons for hallucinations is sleep deprivation. Owing to your age when one focus in many things. Your brain gets worked up. You have studies, career, family, friends, relationships ,we try to keep everything in our mind which in turn gets overloaded with memories and incidents. What we hear sometimes are the voices that are buried inside our memory. I will tell you to practice few things for a week n if still you hear such voices noises please visit a psychiatrist or a neurologist. These tricks are humming or singing a song many times a day listening to some music of your taste reading some good novel/article ,try reading light funny books. Talk to your family friends. Exercise ignoring the voice. Practice this dedicatedly apart from sleep deprivation, isolation, dehydration and/or starvation, extreme stress, strong thoughts or emotions, fever and illness, and drug/alcohol use. Can also be reason for hallucinations. Stay calm, you'll be fine.

10 Tips to De-stress Your Weekend

10 Tips to De-stress Your Weekend

You had a hectic week and by the time weekend rolls in, all you just want to do is kick back and sleep. But in the blink of an eye, the weekend’s gone and you feel stressed because you wasted it. The weekdays are all about your work and the weekends should be about you. So, here are some tips to de-stress your weekend:

  1. Do some yoga: Yoga is a relaxing and calming activity. So bring out your yoga mat and stretch or meditate. You would feel your stress levels dropping immediately!
  2. Hang out with an old friend: Call up an old friend and go check out that new café you have heard so much about. Unwind over a cup of lazy afternoon coffee and you would be surprised how happy you feel afterwards.
  3. Sweat your stress out: If yoga isn’t your thing, hit the gym and sweat it out by doing some cardio or playing your favourite sport. Being active prevents heart diseases and helps you lose weight while making you happy and relaxed as well!
  4. Potluck dinners: Host a dinner where every one of your guests brings something to eat thus, cutting down on your stress of preparing a lavish spread. And you get to socialise in plenty too.
  5. Trying new recipes: Read an interesting recipe somewhere over the week? Why don’t you try it out this weekend? Cooking or baking can be great therapeutic activities.
  6. The importance of being idle: Do nothing or pick up a book, watch a movie to relieve your stress. This is your “me” time, so do what you want to relax.
  7. Long walks: Not only it is a good thing for your heart, walking is amazingly de-stressing. So when you do your errands this weekend, walk instead of driving everywhere.
  8. Sitcoms: A good laugh can help you relax. So put on your favourite comedy show, or check out the show your friend recommended.
  9. Limit your chores: Don’t spend all your weekend doing chores, instead do all of them in the mornings so you can keep your afternoons free. This will keep your mind blessedly unoccupied.
  10. Prepare a to-do list: Yes, the last thing you need to do is prepare for the work week ahead, but making a to-do list can be relaxing, especially if you have a lot on your mind. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a psychologist.

Here are some home remedies to cure acidity.  - Skip the aerated drinks as well as the caffeine. Opt for herbal tea instead.  - Have a glass of lukewarm water everyday.  - Include banana, watermelon and cucumber in your daily diet. Watermelon juice is great for curing acidity.  - Nariyal paani is known to soothe the system if you suffer from acidity.  - Drink a glass of milk - everyday.  - Have your last meal at least two to three hours before you hit the sack.  - Keeping long intervals between meals is another cause for acidity. Have small but regular meals.  - Try to avoid pickles, spicy chutneys, vinegar, etc.  - Boil some mint leaves in water and have a glass of this after meals.

My father is addicted to alcohol. I want him to leave this. Can you suggest me some ways which I can do ti let him leave drinking.

Psychologist, Pune
Hi can understand your concern no person who is addicted will want to get treated or will admit that he has a problem. Firstly as a son wud advise you be suggestive with your father do not get angry or instruct him. Try taking him for opd treatment some medication will help him on physical level and counselling as well. If not contact a senior a member who can come home and talk to your father it will really help. Immediate help is important he will motivate him. Do not worry things will take positive turn but you be calm and patient handle him with care. When there is someone suffering from illness how you handle it? in same manner you have to tackle it at times it may require some time.
