Tetralogy of fallot is a common disorder of the heart, which is found in newborn babies and infants. It is a congenital disorder and consists of four heart defects. These defects inhibit the blood from getting oxygenated and lead to the flow of deoxygenated heart to different parts of the body. Pulmonary stenosis, ventricular septal defect, overriding aorta and right ventricular hypertrophy are the four defects that constitute this disorder. Children with tetralogy of fallot usually have blue-tinged skin and experience symptoms like shortness of breath, lack of energy, poor body development etc.
