A rare neuromuscular disease, Kearns-Sayre syndrome causes paralysis of eye muscles, irregular accumulation of the pigmented material on the lining of the nerve on the eyes and eye parts degeneration. Weakness in the muscles, loss of hearing and ataxia are some likely symptoms of Kearns-Sayre syndrome. This disorder is caused by deletion of genetic material in the DNA.
