Uncomfortable pain in the jaw can be characterized as jaw ache. These symptoms occur in the bones above and below the jaw. Depending on the cause, both sides may be affected. Pain in the areas surrounding the jaw, pain in the tooth, chewing difficulties and a popping sound are symptoms of jaw ache. Other contributing factors to jaw ache are cavities, abscessed tooth and gum disease.
