The best way to boost your immunity is to take a multivitamin, a vitamin C and a fish oil tablet daily. Exercise daily. Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Avoid alcohol, nicotine and illegal substances.

Hello. I have dust allergy. And my eyes become red since 3 days. What should I do?
hello...i think u have allergic conjunctivitis..Eye allergies, called allergic conjunctivitis, are a common condition that occurs when the eyes react to something that irritates them (called an allergen). The eyes produce a substance called histamine to fight off the allergen. As a result, the eyelids and conjunctiva (the thin, filmy membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids) become red, swollen and itchy, with tearing and burning. The key to treating eye allergies is to avoid or limit contact with the substance causing the problem.Avoid rubbing eyes instead do cold compresses. Use antiallergic eyedrop along with lubricating eyedrop. this will help u I am very sorry dear to say that there is no drud that can cure allergy..only way is to stay away from all those things that u r allergic to ....

What medications are best for the treatment of asthma? what are their side effects?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Faridabad
Ayurveda treatment is the best. But depending upon your condition, severity of disease, diet n life style, you may require different medications. Don't bother too much about s. E. Those differs with different medications. Ayurveda, if given after understanding your problem thoroughly and in right dose, there is no s. E.

Apply one to two drops to face, neck, and décolletage. Apply one drop directly to skin imperfections twice daily. Diffuse in the morning to promote energy and vitality. Rose oils benefits the limbic system when used aromatically. It is an effective antiseptic. You probably won't find a sweeter smelling antiseptic than rose essential oil. Relieves anxiety and stress. It has anti-viral properties. It is a laxative too. It can reduce menopausal symptoms. It acts as an anti-inflammatory. It can be used to clear up acne. It can be used to treat depression.

You Can Control Your Asthma

DNB Respiratory Medicine, MBBS, FNB Critical Care Medicine

You Can Control Your Asthma

It is World Asthma Day. Let us all join hands and control it.

Remember 'Prevention is the best strategy'

Asthma is a disease of the airways in the lungs.
You can get asthma at any age. You can not catch asthma from other people. Many times more than one person in the same family has asthma.
Airways carry air to the lungs. Airways get smaller and smaller like branches of a tree.

When asthma is under control, the airways are clear and air flows easily in and out.

When asthma is not under control, the sides of the airways in the lungs are
always thick and swollen and an asthmatic attack can happen easily.
During an asthma attack, less air can get in and out of the lungs. People a cough and wheeze. The chest feels tight.
The sides of the airways get even more swollen, squeezed and start to make mucus.

AlwaysvRemember

Preventive medicines for asthma are safe to use every day.
- You can not become addicted to preventive medicines for asthma even if you use them for many years.
- Preventive medicine makes the swelling of the airways in the lungs go away.

Monitor the signs and symptoms of this disease and Be prepared.
Always have asthma medicine. Buy before you run out and Always carry your quick-relief asthma medicine with you when you leave home.

I have to improve my immunity level, what type of foods & medicines I have to take for that?

Hi. I can understand your concern. Best way to improve immunity is by doing regular 30 mins exercise daily and having good nutritious food like green leafy vegetables, fruits, an egg every day and leading a stress free life. Don't worry, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. Wish you good health. Thanks.

Dust allergy is partly genetic and partly environmental. Thus it never goes away. With better ,less dusty environment  the extent if the problem gets reduced. Medicines help to downregulate the immune response of your body to these environmental allergens. Long term lifestyle  changes with gradually tapering medication  helps to tackle chronic sinus problems.  Start taking Steam inhalation twice a day. *For chronic allergic rhinosinusitis you will need to take a long term course of antibiotics  together  with Nasal sprays.*You will need to avoid dusty environment  and dust mites, animal dander etc. Regular cleaning of AC air filters. Wearing mask while driving 2 wheelers/working in dusty  areas Medical  management  is done for 3 months and then patients  condition is reviewed.  Intermittent treatment is not beneficial  in the long run. Around 30 %of people with allergic rhinitis  will develop Asthma if not treated .But majority of patients with asthma are allergic to dust .Active treatment  of nasal allergy reduces Asthma attacks and medicine requirements. This improve  quality of life .allergens.

What is Allergic Asthma?

B.A, Fellowship in Applied Nutrition , PG Diploma in Dietetics and Nutrition, Certified Diabetes Educator

What is Allergic Asthma?

Allergic asthma is the condition in which the symptoms of an asthmatic attack appear after exposure to certain allergens. 90% of the cases of asthma in children are allergy driven, while in adults, the percentage is said to be around 50%.

An allergy happens when an individual's immune system exhibits massive reaction or fights vigorously against substances like pollen, dust, animal dander or certain other minute particles which are actually not harmful to the body but are considered so by the immune system.

Symptomatic changes in cases of allergic asthma:

If the symptoms of an asthma attack occur only when you are subjected to these triggers or irritant particles, your case is allergy driven.

  • In such cases, the airway reacts aggressively to the entry of such allergens.
  • The airway muscles tighten up and inflammation is observed.
  • Breathing becomes painful and compromised, and mucus accumulation sets in very quickly.
  • Coughing is a common phenomenon, as the body tries to expel the mucus accumulated.

The allergens mentioned above are not the only triggering agents. Basically, anything that causes irritation could trigger an allergy and an asthmatic attack thereafter. Symptoms in the case of allergy driven asthma are more or less the same as seen in other asthmatic cases.

Confirming the cause of asthma as allergic or not:

The doctor would give you a much better clarification on whether you're asthma is allergy driven or not. There are pretty much two ways to decipher the same:

  • One is to administer a tiny amount of allergen to the skin and making a note of the reaction to that. Whether the reaction is a normal one or an aggressive one would tell if an individual has an allergy or not.
  • Specific IgE test may be done to confirm the cause, or to test the presence of an allergic reaction in the individual.

All your queries pertaining to allergic asthma and asthma, in general, are more than welcome.
