Hi sir/ madam, I am a diabetic patient, 39 yrs, 87 kgs weight and doing 1 hour evening walk. I last time checked it 150 & 240 sugar levels. Daily I am having three spoons of soak fenugreek seeds on empty stomach. If I continue like this, my body weight will increase please let me know? And one more thing whether its good to me or not having daily?

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Mr. lybrate-user, Looking at your weight and height, it is clear that you have grade 1 obesity with a BMI of 31.42 kg/M2. This itself can cause high blood glucose level. Plus the levels mentioned are high, ideally fasting should be around 100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. So there is a need to bring down the glucose levels. Fenugreek seeds are good, the contain fibers and are helpful in controlling glucose levels. Thanks.

Hello sir,I am having serious problem of hair,I am having a very less amount of hair, and growth is also not high,so please suggest me the solution for the same.Thank you.

Vaidya Visharad
Ayurveda, Narnaul
Hello Dear,According to Ayurveda, hair is a byproduct of bone formation. The factors responsible for building bones are also responsible for the hair re-growth. Ayurveda doctors believe that early hair loss is related to body type and the balance of the mind-body constitution (doshas). Excess pitta in the sebaceous gland, at the root of the hair, or folliculitis can make the person start losing hair. We loose hair after a certain growth and new hair replaces the older one, which means recycling of hair. Hair loss means losing more hair than you naturally lose. As our hair grows under a natural process, so we can take care of growth only by natural resources and methods. Visit us at www.Malhotraayurveda.Com

I am 25 years old, and I am suffering from the problem of night fall for last 4 years, I have tried many cures, but all are in vain. It occurs frequently twice or thrice a week, this is affecting my health way too much, causing weakness, anxiety IQ loss and much more. Please help me here. Thanks.

Reparenting Technique, BA, BEd
Psychologist, Bangalore
All the weakness, anxiety and IQ loss have no connection to nightfall at all. Nightfall is the body’s natural way of excreting the buildup of semen, and when it does not it is reabsorbed. There are too many fallacies built up among young people about masturbation too. This fact should now help you to dispel these myths and live life fully and happily with authentic knowledge. If you worry about this, then you will experience all of those symptoms unnecessarily.

My MRI report says- There is straightening of the cervical spine. The alignment of the vertebrae is normal. paravertebral osteophytes are seen at the multiple levels. The marrow within the vertebrae reveals normal signal intensity. No focal bony lesion is seen. Left facial arthropathy is noted at C4 5 level with marrow edema in the adjacent pedicle of C4 vertebra. Disc desiccation is noted all cervical levels. Focal posterocentral disc protrusion is noted at c2 3 level indenting the anterior subarachnoid space. And my xray report says - Bones are osteoporosis resulting compression of C5 and C6 vertebral bodies. Loss of cervical lordosis. The cervical spine shows sclerosis, with osteo-phytic lippings at its adjacent articular margin. Reduced disc spaces between C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels. Now I am taking no medication, only exercise and when more pain taking one pain killer, as per my family physicians advice. Now what can I do to remove this pain completely.

What Is Amblyopia? Are You or Your Child Suffering From It?

Diploma in Ophthalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Hyderabad
What Is Amblyopia? Are You or Your Child Suffering From It?

Amblyopia is decreased vision in one or both eyes due to abnormal development of vision in infancy or childhood. It is commonly known as lazy eye, in which a child's vision does not develop properly, usually in one eye. If it is left untreated, a child's vision will never develop correctly in the affected eye.

What are the types of Amblyopia are there?
There are several different types and causes of Amblyopia, such as Strabismic Amblyopia, Deprivation Amblyopia and Refractive Amblyopia. The end result of all forms of Amblyopia is reduced vision in the affected eye(eyes).

How does Lazy Eye occurs?
Lazy eye occurs when your brain favors one eye, often due to poor vision in your other eye. Eventually, your brain might ignore signals from your weak or lazy eye. The condition can result in vision impairment and loss of depth perception.

What are the Symptoms of Lazy Eye?
Lazy eye may be hard to detect until it becomes severe. Early warning signs include:

  1. Tendency to bump into objects on one side
  2. An eye that wanders inward or outward
  3. Eyes that appear not to work together
  4. Poor depth perception
  5. Double vision
  6. Squinting

What Causes Lazy Eye?
A number of conditions and factors can lead you to rely on one eye more than the other. These include:

  1. Constant strabismus or turning of one eye
  2. Genetics or a family history of lazy eye
  3. Different levels of vision in each of your eyes
  4. Damage to one of your eyes from trauma
  5. Drooping eyelids
  6. Vitamin A deficiency
  7. Corneal ulcer or scar
  8. Eye surgery
  9. Vision impairment, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism
  10. Glaucoma, which is high pressure in your eye that can lead to vision problems and blindness

How is Amblyopia diagnosed?
When it first occurs, parents and children often don't notice the condition. It's important to get routine eye exams as an infant and child, even if you show no outward symptoms of eye problems.
Family history of amblyopia is a risk factor for the condition.

How Is Lazy Eye Treated?

  • Glasses/Contact Lenses
  • Eye Patch
  • Eye Drops
  • Surgery
  • Other treatments include:
  • Atropine penalization therapy (also used for maintenance)
  • Optical blurring through contact lenses or elevated bifocal segments

If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.
