Ideally give feed every two hours and better still on demand. If you give powder do not give in bottle but feed with spoon, properly mixed as per the direction.

Don`t worry sabita . Thalassemia minor is not a fatal disease at all, only thing we needs to know is, that hemoglobin in such patients will remain a little low, somewhere around 10 mg/dL, so please consult a pediatric hemato-oncologist so get full counselling done regarding the disease . please dont go by what other people say. For any query whatever it is , consult your pediatric- hemato-oncologist.

Geographic tongue — Geographic tongue (benign migratory glossitis) is a chronic, recurring disorder characterized by pink to red, slightly depressed lesions with irregular, elevated, white or yellow borders (picture 3). The lesions are areas of dekeratinization and desquamation of filiform papilla. The pattern of dekeratinization and desquamation continuously changes, creating a migratory appearance. The lesions occur predominantly on the dorsum and lateral borders of the anterior two-thirds of the tongue. They are typically asymptomatic but may be painful when inflamed. Geographic tongue is more common in girls than boys. The etiology is not known, but it has been associated with childhood allergies. Reassurance is usually the only necessary treatment.

My daughter is 2 yrs old so now I want to stop feeding but she doesn't agree and she screams like anything so can I get some solution?

MBBS, Diploma in Child Health (DCH), Pediatric Gastroenterology
Pediatrician, Delhi
It can be very difficult to stop breast feeding suddenly. You have to be firm and very persuasive. Tell her that she is now a big girl and offer her her a variety of interesting food, snack items specially when she is hungry and keep her diverted from the breast. Basically see that she does not remain hungry. Also, you can have some children come and play at home with her to distract her at feed times, or you can take her out to play. Children also crave for breast for remaining close to mother, feeling secure and safe. Offer her more hugs and cuddles and say how she can drink with a new sipper, how she can use a straw. Make the change over an interesting fun activity. But be firm, and determined and be ready to face a few tears.

Hi lybrate-user, as you had described the problem seems to be a serious one need to detail evaluate the patient clinically as well as battery of investigation, for that patient require admission in the hospital, if blood in vomiting needs to do endoscopy and further management required.
