Respected Doctors. Please help me. My mother is 53 y old. She takes medicine for bp tazloc-40 and prolomet-XL since 2 yrs. With medicine bp is 82/134. She takes medicine for fatty liver and livial (tibolone) for gain after her uterus taken out in an operation in 2013. On 28th march, 2018 her thyroid was 27 (before that taking thyrox 50 but missed some doses in march ).She took thyrox100 for 15 days and again tested on 15th april. Now thyroid is 0.9 and her vitamin b12 greater than 2000 and vitamin b12 was same (more than 2000) on 28th march report also. Also her weight is 74 with fat tummy and height 5.1'Her sgot 63 and sgpt 141. HbA1c is 5.5. Kindly advise which speciality doctor she should go and prescribe medicine if any from your side.  She is vegetarian and taking no vit b12 supplement. She has thyroid since 10 yrs. Please tell 1.the dose of thyroid she should take now. 2. Why vitamin b12 is more than 2000 (reported in january and then again in march) and what she should do to reduce it.

Please have patience and continue with the treatment as advised by the doctor. Make sure that you go for regular check up (check thyroid levels every 2-3 months till it is stabilized ). Let her eat only freshly prepared homemade food every day. Avoid readymade food/ juices etc. Take the help of a nutritionist who can prepare a diet chart (a balanced diet) with lesser calories. It happens in postmenopausal women (after cessation of menses) or even around that time. Ask her to eat more soya rich food which contains natural estrogen along with calcium. Her symptoms will go in 2-3 months time. If this does not work it will need to be treated with medications like estrogen or Tibolone.
