You have become addicted. Also please do thyroid scan. Reduce your cough syrup intake slowly don't stop abruptly and do exercises. Go for long walks in the morning and evening. You have to find time for yourself.

The effect of sleeping all day is due to codeine which is a sedative. Even Chlorpheniramine is sedating. Cough syrup addiction is a common outlet for depressed college students who did not have means of getting hard drugs.
