Dear lybrate-user,
I am sure your doctor must have told you that dapagliflozin acts by causing increased excretion of glucose in urine. That is the way it controls your blood sugars. Do not be worried about the urine sugars being high on this medicine so long as your blood sugars are under control. Because of sugar in the urine sometimes there can be irritation in the foreskin region which may need an antifungal cream

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
The reason why blood glucose is not in control can be due to 1) Dietary intake is not as required or it is higher than recommended 2) No or limited exercise which does not burn body's glucose and does not help insulin action 3) Medicine taken may not be adequate. So one has to look at all of these causes and then decide. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
In general it is better to avoid alcohol for a diabetic person. The reason is that it has no nutritional value but provides empty calories. It also blunts hypoglycemic awareness. Once a while a small quantity may be taken. Thanks.

Lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
The glucose levels mentioned are very good, showing excellent control. This is mainly because of Tablet Gliden MF that your are taking. The other tablet whether you take or not, glucose levels will remain within present range. Reason being that particular tablet has no proven clinical benefits. There are absolutely no standard clinical trials done like double blind placebo controlled studies. So the claims are not proven at all. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. It is clear from the glucose levels mentioned and hba1c%, your diabetes is not in control. You are already on multiple tablets for treating diabetes. So there is no point in any further addition of tablets. What is needed is to give a total re-look at your total treatment including present drugs, diet pattern and extent of daily exercises. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details mentioned. From the hba1c% it is clear that there is no proper control of blood glucose. Ideally at your age fbg should be < 100 mg or closer to it. Pp should be 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%.
Therefore it is clear that there is a need to upgrade the treatment, which means we need to look at your diet, extent of daily exercise, weight & height. Information regarding these aspects is not there, so it is difficult to comment. ...more
