Loperamide Hcl 2 MG Tablet acts on the opioid receptors present in the walls of the food pipe and reduces the rhythmic contraction known as peristalsis. Thus food stays longer in the intestine and more water and electrolyte is absorbed from it. This relieves the symptoms of diarrhea and makes the stool more solid. This medicine also increases the tone of anal opening and reduces the sense of urgency associated with diarrhea.
Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.
