K-Ion 5Mg Tablet works following dual mechanism. Firstly, it activates the ATP sensitive potassium channel, leading to vascular smooth muscle hyperpolarization. Secondly, it triggers guanylate cyclase to enhance production of cyclic GMP, thereby activating protein kinase G. Therefore, GTPase RhoA is inhibited and Rho-kinase activity is decreased. As a result the myosin phosphate activity is accelerated and the calcium sensitivity of the smooth muscle is reduced. Owing to its nitrate property, nicorandil works as a vasodilator.
Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.
