Hello lybrate-user, I assume from reading that you are suffering from Pruritus Intriago meaning itching usually under the skin fold which usually caused due to fungal infections. Ensure you take bath twice daily and remove all unwanted hairs and keep the body dry and wear a loose fitting clothing. These precautions are other the medication prescribed by the doctors. You continue to suffer from fungal infections is because of repeated fungal infections. With above suggestions I think it will help. Fungus (Tinea cruris) usually grows in absence of oxygen. Exposure to more oxygen helps in preventing fungal growth. Fungal infection occurs due to poor immunity. To get rid of it we need good nutritious food. Avoid all types of shampoo and soap For this problem, we need to see the case to come to any conclusion. Without visualizing the condition, it is difficult to come to any conclusion regarding this disease. So if possible, do visit the clinic or book an online appointment for the treatment. Jock itch also called as tinea cruris is one of the commonest infections in dermatology today. It's a bit resistant to treatment due to resistance to anti fungal medications in recent times. Necflo has ofloxacin which has no role in the management of fungal infections. You need a structured treatment for a slightly longer duration. Itraconazole, luliconazole, terbinafine are some of the molecules used in the management of this condition. Other than medications, there are a couple of lifestyle changes which would help you in faster resolution. Keep the area as dry as possible, reduce the intake of sweets, avoid sharing of towels with others. Hope this helps. You can consult dermatologist for the doses and proper regimens of the above mentioned drugs.

Hi friends , I am Dr. Rohit Batra, from Derma World Skin and Hair Clinics in Rajouri Garden and New Rajendra Nagar.

Today we’re going to talk about fungal infections, or as you all call, jock itch . It is becoming very prevalent in our society where both men and women are suffering from itching in rural areas and other body parts. No matter what you have been using, it doesn’t go. The reason behind that is, just like the fungus grows on your bread in the household and the bread lies in a hot and humid climate, fungus can grow on your body, especially in inter tribulus area or the pores of the body, because it finds sugar that is available in our body, sweat, and there is no aeration in these areas which remain closed, so fungus can grow there rapidly.

Now because people have been using all sorts of OTC products that are available with the chemist without going to a dermatologist, then they apply these creams, which mostly contain steroids. Till the time you are applying these creams, the symptoms vanish, the itching goes away, but only to come back as soon as you stop these creams. So if you are having a fungal infection in any of these body parts, it’s better to go to a dermatologist and get rid of it for once and al, otherwise if you keep applying these creams, the fungus keeps on growing in the body, affects other areas, and can give rise to a very massive fungal infection.

The various creams that are available as an OTC product should not be used, because they just control the symptoms and not the cause. If you want to get treated for your fungal infections, you need to visit a dermatologist. You need to take the course for two to three weeks for oral antifungals, something like terbinafine, itraconazole or fluconazole, along with few creams containing other aliconazole, and once this thing goes off, one should take care that while you are bathing, you should make sure that after bathing you dry yourself properly and don’t use wet clothes.

If you are going out for any sort of sport or for gymming or running, make sure these clothes, which get drenched, are not worn without getting them washed properly. And once you use a towel for more than two days, it should be properly washed, and should be dried in sun, and then only used. Such things are becoming very prevalent in our society, and families are being affected with fungal infections. So don’t share your clothes, don’t share your towels, and make sure that you don’t spread these infections to your family.

So if you are suffering from any sort of fungal infection, maybe it’s jock itch, tinea floris, tinea corporis, visit us. You can either visit us through our Lybrate profile, or you can call us on Derma World Skin and Hair Clinics in New Rajendra Nagar, or Rajouri Garden, and we can help you get rid of this fungal infection for once and all. Happy healing.

I am Dr colonel Anil Goyal. I am an ex-army dermatologist, M.B.B.S more than 35 years ago, M.D more than 25 years ago. Both done in armed force medical college, Pune. I was a senior advisor and consultant in the army until I took premature retirement and started working full time in Gurgaon. I am a senior dermatologist and I will be telling you today about the most common condition which we are getting in our O.P.D. that is fungal infections.

If you know from your bio days, fungus is a plant which leads on moist climate. That is why fungal infection are more in the rainy season in the hot moist areas of the body like the scalp, neck, underarms or armpits, groin and even in between the backside and fungus needs dead tissue.

So where is a dead tissue?

It is more in the palms and soles. For fungal infections. we people make one common mistake we just go to the chemist and start taking some medicines across the counter. The basic problem with this medicines are they had steroids which decreases the redness and itching but it is not controlling the fungal infection, the fungal infection needs proper care. You must go to the nearest skin specialist for treatment of the fungal infections. Do not neglect and do not think it will go on his own.

The common medicines to eat for fungal medicines which we normally give are lucamisol, itraconazole, eberconazole etc. But please do not try to take treatment yourself. Some people start using strong anti- septic/ anti-biotic medicated soaps. These soaps also cause further problem because they cause allergy on the pre-existing damage tissue. Keep the area clean and dry. Take bath atleast twice a day. Once you are not busy in your work preferably avoid wearing undergarments and use cotton clothes through which your skin can breathe. And anybody who are choosing socks over prolonged periods of time, we must make sure that the two wet spaces are dried and well-powdered. And then they are wearing shoes and socks.Suppose our socks become wet either due to jogging or rain water, we should dry our feet asap. And if our body is clean and dry, then our fungal infections will be helped by medication more easily. Also if somebody’s fungal infections are not becoming o.k. then we should be checking their diabetes level also.

You must go to your nearest doctor or you can contact me at Lybrate. I am available round the clock by chat, sms, email texting and wish you all the best.
