About Hungry Syrup

Hungry syrup is an antihistamine used to cure lack of appetite in the body. It works by blocking natural substances like serotonin and histamine that causes inflammation, congestion, itching, and other allergic reactions.

This medicine is not prescribed for people who have an allergic reaction to it, women who are breast-feeding, a newborn baby or premature infant, an elderly person, those who have narrow-angle glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, a peptic ulcer or bladder, stomach, or bowel blockage.

If you are taking or have taken within the last 14 days a monoamine oxidase inhibitor, do not take this medicine. Keep your doctor informed about your medical conditions and other medications you are taking during this treatment.

One might take this medicine as per the dose and duration advised by your doctor. It is better to first check the label to know the directions before use. The dosage will also depend on the age, weight, medical condition, body size and response to treatment.

Do not use in neonates, safety and efficacy have not been established in children <2 years of age; symptomatic prostate hypertrophy. Hungry Syrup are more likely to cause dizziness, excessive sedation, syncope, toxic confusion states, and hypotension in the elderly.

In case reports, Hungry Syrup has promoted weight gain in anorexic adults, though it has not been specifically studied in the elderly. All cases of weight loss or decreased appetite should be adequately assessed.

      The action of the medicine is initiated within 60 minutes after its administration.

    • How long is the duration of effect?

      The effect of this medicine will remain active for about 8 - 12 hours after its administration.

      Missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. It is recommended to skip your missed dose, if it is the time for your next scheduled dose.

      Consult your doctor in case of overdose.

    How does this medication work?

    It has many uses, the most important of which is its action as an antihistamine, anticholinergic and local anaesthetic. The mechanism of action for the drug remains uncertain at this point of time, even though some experiments have been performed on rats to determine the same.

      What are the interactions of Hungry Syrup ?

      Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.

        Alcohol causes an additive CNS effects, thus must be avoided while taking this medicine.
      • Interaction with Lab Test

        Following lab test might get a false report:
        • Diagnostic antigen skin tests
        • Amylases (S) get increased
        • Fasting glucose (S) get decreased.
      • Interaction with Medicine

        Increased toxicity: MAO inhibitors may lead to hallucinations.
      • Interaction with Disease
