Drinking Hot Water Vs Cold Water: Should You Mind Water's Temperature?
Benefits of drinking hot water Vs Cold Water

Water is essential for the body and it is impossible for a person to stay healthy for too long without adequate water. Most people chose to drink cold water as it gives a feeling of quenching thirst faster. Hot or warm water though is not really preferred. A comparative analysis shows that the temperature of the water we drink impacts our body.

1. Quenches thirst instantly.
2. Cools down the body immediately if body heat is unbearable (in fever or after workout)
3. Neutralize the pain caused by acidity, gas.

1. Causes severe constipation by cooling down the digestive tract and by neutralizing body heat used for digestion
2. Cools the down body causing a sudden drop in blood pressure
3. Causes the respiratory and digestive tract to contact, this may cause breathing and digestion problems

1. Improves digestion and cleans the intestine and digestive tract effectively
2. Hot water eliminates toxins from the body facilitating better health
3. It relieves constipation and enables better bowel movements
4. Provides necessary heat in the body that regulates body temperature causing better circulation of blood
5. Helps in reducing weight

1. Injects unwanted heat in the body
2. Excess heat leads to fever and fatigue
3. Doesn't quench thirst easily

From a health perspective, hot water intake is better than drinking cold water. Cold water harms far more than it benefits while hot water?s drawbacks can be easily controlled by limiting consumption and limiting the temperature of water. Drinking warm or lukewarm water is ideal and only cool (not cold) water must be consumed for quenching thirst instantly.

Hypoglycemia - Symptoms You Must Know!

Hypoglycemia - Symptoms You Must Know!

There are numerous conditions that can arise when the body does not process the dietary glucose properly. Hypoglycemia, otherwise called as low blood sugar, is when the blood sugar level in a person’s body decreases than normal value. Individuals with diabetes can get hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) when their bodies do not have enough sugar to use as fuel. It can happen for a few reasons, including diet, few medications and conditions, and exercise.

In case you get hypoglycemia, record the date and time when it happened and what you did. Give the record to your specialist, so he or she can search for a pattern and adjust your medications accordingly. The most widely recognized reason for hypoglycemia includes medicines used to treat diabetes mellitus, for example, insulin and sulfonylureas.

The risk is more noteworthy in diabetics who have eaten very less than what is required, exercised more than expected, or have had excessive alcohol. Other reasons for hypoglycemia incorporate kidney failure, certain cancers, for example, insulinoma, liver sickness, hypothyroidism, hunger, an inherent error of digestive system, extreme diseases, receptive hypoglycemia, various medications and liquor. The vast majority feels the symptoms of hypoglycemia when their glucose is 70 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) or lower. Every individual with diabetes may have distinctive symptoms of hypoglycemia depending on their age, stage and other factors. You will figure out how to recognize yours.

Some of the most common symptoms are:

Early indications include:

  1. Confusion
  2. Drowsiness
  3. Shivering or shaking
  4. Hunger
  5. Irritation
  6. Headaches
  7. Pounding heart
  8. Racing pulse
  9. Pale skin
  10. Sweating
  11. Trembling
  12. Weakness
  13. Nervousness

Anxiety Without treatment, you may get more serious side effects, including:

  1. Poor coordination
  2. Concentration issues
  3. Numbness in mouth and tongue
  4. Nightmares
  5. Unconsciousness
  6. Trouble talking, impaired speech
  7. Ataxia, incoordination, mistaken up for being drunk
  8. Central or general motor deficiency, loss of motion, hemiparesis
  9. Migraine
  10. Trance, coma like state, strange breathing
  11. Seizures Individuals with hypoglycemia unawareness do not have any idea about their glucose level drops.

In case you have this condition, your glucose can drop without you noticing it. Without quick treatment, you can pass out, encounter a seizure, or even go into a state of extreme coma. In case somebody is having an extreme reaction, for example, unconsciousness, it is imperative to inject a drug called glucagon and contact the hospital quickly. People who are at danger for low glucose need to speak with their specialist about getting a solution for glucagon. You should never give an unconscious individual anything by mouth, as it could make them choke. Hypoglycemia should not be ignored. Depending upon the type of symptoms you are witnessing, you should immediately rectify or consult with you specialist before it gets severe.

Erectile Dysfunction: How to Manage it Effectively?

Erectile Dysfunction: How to Manage it Effectively?

How to manage it effectively?

There are enough options available which can keep every man sexually active regardless of the cause of erectile dysfunction (ed). Here's how therapy can take place.

Counselling sessions:

As with an electrical circuit, if there are any breaks in the system it will not function as a unit. Part of the process of psychosexual therapy would be to think about the actual emotional and/or psychological issues behind ed, and to attend to these with weekly counselling sessions. This realisation is an important first step for you to begin and resolve your erection problem. The patient normally implements the therapy advice at home, either alone or with a partner, between therapy sessions. This may help you maintain an erection for once, gradually building confidence.

Relieving sexual anxiety:

Telling your partner before you make love that you have this anxiety, and the feelings it causes. As a result, your partner will understand, and the two of you can work on it together.

You can reduce some worries by being more giving with foreplay, even if your sexual performance isn't what you or your partner wanted, your partner will still be satisfied.

Consider regular exercise which brings confidence in your body as your energy is also an important part of overcoming sexual anxiety.

Non-medical therapies

Watermelon juice (nature's viagra) and ginseng (herbal viagra): l-citrulline, an amino acid, present in watermelon can bring about significant improvement in blood flow to the penis, showing an improvement in erectile function. Another herb called ginseng, specifically 'red ginseng,' is known as the 'herbal viagra' that can improve sexual performance. Several research studies provide evidence for the effectiveness of these herbs in ed treatment.

Kegel exercises: pelvic exercises, involving the portion of the body between your waist and thighs, are commonly known as kegel exercises. Three months of kegel exercises twice daily can help to significantly improve your erection ability which strengthens the penile muscle. They also promote urinary control.

Acupuncture therapy: the acupuncture needles are placed in the wall of the abdomen. By stimulating specific acupoints, the practitioner aims to restore the proper flow of energy in the body resolving ed.

Eat right: scientific study at Massachusetts on male aging has found that eating a diet rich in fruit, vegetables, fish with fewer red and processed meat, whole and refined grains decreased the likelihood of having ed. Intake of a daily multivitamin and fortified foods is the best remedies for treating ed.

Walking: just 30 minutes of walking a day is linked to 41% drop in risk for ed. Moderate exercise can help restore sexual performance in obese middle-aged men with ed.

Attention towards vascular health and making body slim: high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high cholesterol, and high triglycerides can all damage arteries in the penis along with heart and brain thereby leading to ed. Maintaining a trim waistline is a good defence for ed, as men with a 42-inch waist are 50% more likely to develop ed in comparison to 32-inch waist people.

Avoid excessive alcohol: chronic heavy drinking of alcohol can cause liver damage, nerve damage, and other conditions, interfering with the normal balance of male sex hormone (androgens) levels ultimately leading to ed.

Intake of l-arginine: l-arginine, an amino acid, which is naturally present in the body and helps make nitric oxide, supports a successful erection. Nitric oxide is responsible for making the blood vessels relax, which helps sustain an erection for men.

Medical therapy:

Ed can also be treated with oral medications, drugs insertions or injections into the penis. Oral medications that are normally prescribed to treat the dysfunction work for about 80% of men. They work by boosting the natural signals, which are generated during sexual activity so as to help you sustain an erection. Alprostadil is a type of medicine that causes blood vessels to expand, increasing blood flow to the penis, thus facilitate an erection. Cialis, Levitra, staxyn and viagra work by a similar mechanism to cause erections. There are subtle differences in how long the drug works and how quickly it works. A vacuum erection device is a plastic tube that slips over the penis, making a seal with the skin of the body. A pump at the other end of the tube creates a low-pressure vacuum around the erectile tissue, which results in an erection.

Ayurvedic medications:

Klaibya in Ayurveda is defined as the inability to attain and keep sufficient rigid (firm) erection which is very essential during sexual intercourse for the sexual needs or the needs of his female partner. Also vajikarana in Ayurveda means producing a horse's vigor. Some of the herbs used in vajikarana include:

  • Bulb of allium sativum (garlic)
  • Root of asparagus recemosus (shatavari)
  • Root of boerhavia diffusa (punarnava)
  • Whole part of Cocculus cardifoli (guduchi)
  • Root of panax ginseng (ginseng)
  • Seeds of myristica fragraus (nutmeg)
  • Leaf and root of withania somnifera (ashwagandha)
  • Leaf and seeds of ginkgo bioloba (ginkgo)
  • Pitch of asphaltum bitumen (shilajit)
  • Dried root of lepidium meyenii (maca)

The Best Way To Prepare For An IVF Procedure!

The Best Way To Prepare For An IVF Procedure!

One of the major milestones in a woman’s life is the entry into motherhood. For most women, when this does not happen in the natural logical sequence of things, there is anxiety and lot of pressure from family and friends.

However, with advancements now, there are options like intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilisation (IUI and IVF) available, which can help increase the chances of conception and pregnancy. IVF is where the egg is retrieved from the woman’s womb, fertilised externally and then transplanted back into the uterus where it grows to full term. However, there are always unanswered questions like how long to wait before going for IVF, is it the right procedure for me, etc.

Read on to know to find answers to some of these.

  1. Maternal age: As a woman reaches 35 and a man reaches 40, the fertility rates drop significantly. The chances that a woman at 35 will conceive is about 20%, which goes down to 5% if the woman is 40. However, this rate can be significantly increased by using IVF. The quality of the egg would gradually deteriorate, and so if a woman is nearing 40, it is better to consider IVF as the ovarian reserve would be optimal with IVF.
  2. Failed intrauterine insemination: In couples who have problems with the sperm reaching the uterus, intrauterine insemination (IUI) is first attempted. However, if 3 or more attempts of fail, it is time to consider IVF.
  3. Duration of inability to conceive: While some couples conceive quite promptly in a month or two, most take about 6 to 8 months of unprotected sex to conceive. Therefore, IVF can be an option if you are failing to conceive even after a year. Less than a year, don’t fret. Take it easy and it might just do the trick.
  4. Medical health: Both the partner’s medical health should be taken into account. Lifestyle changes like smoking, alcohol abuse, drug abuse should be considered, which can account for poor sexual performance and therefore lead to an inability to conceive. Health conditions like diabetes and heart disease can also lead to infertility. Hypothyroidism in women is another thing that must be ruled out, as it often leads to an inability to conceive.
  5. Sexual problems with the partner: One of the first things to do before going for IVF is to check that the male does not have any issues. Be it erection issues or ejaculation issues or sperm issues, they need to be ruled out. Sperm quality, quantity, and motility have to be analysed, and if they are optimal, IVF can be considered. In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

How to Get Stiffer Erection in Seconds?

MD - General Medicine

How to Get Stiffer Erection in Seconds?

How to Get Stiffer Erection in Seconds?

A lot of men suffer with erectile dysfunction that makes it impossible for them to have satisfactory intercourse.

Some of the main causes of weak or soft erections include the following:

If you want to get instant and rock solid erections, it's important to take care of your overall and cardiac health. Rule of the thumb is "anything that is bad for your heart, is bad for your penis too".

Excess body fat and weight results in clogging of arteries that reduces blood circulation throughout your body. This include reduced blood flow to the penis.

Regular exercise is a great way to melt away excess body fat and increase blood circulation throughout your body.

If you are not interested in going to a gym 4-5 days a week, step out for a brisk walk for at least 20-30 minutes a day. A simple activity like brisk walk can reduce body fat, increase blood circulation and also bust stress too. Exercise is a great stress buster. Another added advantage of exercise is that it can help boost your energy and stamina too.

I am sure you already know that you need a lot of stamina in bed to better your performance.

Swimming is another great exercise that can help you get back in shape by burning excess fat in the body.

Taking care of your diet is also important. While some foods are effective in increasing blood circulation in your body, others can help elevate nitric oxide and testosterone production in your body.

Here are some foods that you must include in your diet:

  • For increasing blood circulation - ginger, cayenne pepper, dark chocolate, onions, garlic, goji berries, water melon etc.
  • For increasing nitric oxide production - foods that contain l-arginine such as lean meat, lamb, beef, fish, poultry, nuts and beans, oatmeal etc.
  • For increasing testosterone production - oily fish like salmon and sardines, white button mushrooms, red meat, nuts and beans etc.
  • At the same time, it is important to limit foods that are rich in sugars and carbohydrates. This is because such foods spike your Insulin levels and inhibit testosterone production in your body.

Apart from this, excessive smoking is also bad for your erections. Nicotine and tobacco destroy arterial walls in your body and restrict blood flow to the penis. Alcohol, on the other hand, suppresses testosterone production in your body. Thus, you must avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.

Use of recreational drugs is also highly damaging for your penis health. Almost 100% of men who take drugs like cocaine etc. are impotent. Thus, you must avoid such drugs too.

Reducing stress and anxiety is also important to better your performance in bed. Some of the best ways to reduce stress include yoga and meditation. Just 30 minutes of a yoga session, three times a week can help you manage stress effectively. Yoga can also help you gain better control over your ejaculations.

Last, but not the least, you can also try a good and effective erection gel.

Such gels are made with 100% natural ingredients and can make your penis rock solid within seconds of application. Such gels act really fast. Some of the best ones contain ingredients like ginkgo biloba, l-arginine, vitamin C, aloe vera, pomegranate ellagic acid etc.

Such gels not only ensure rock solid and instant erections but can also help you last longer in bed with regular use. It is not surprising that they are in huge demand among men seeking sexual enhancement.
