As Pioz 7.5 Mf is not available anymore?
It is not a good substitute as piz mf contains two medicines-pioglitazone 7.5 mg and metformin 500 mg while Glycomet contains only one-metformin 500 mg in sustained release form.

I am diabetes patient.
Please tell me about Medicine.
Can I take blisto 1mf tablet.
Mr. Lybrate-user, the tablet mentioned has 4 mg of glimiperide and 1000 mg metformin. This is a high dose particularly if some one is starting the treatment. Plus dose is also dependent on blood sugar levels both fasting and pp. Plus hba1c%. So I need to know that before guiding regarding whether to take that tablet or not. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. Looking at your fasting and pp glucose levels, it is clear that diabetes is not at all in control. Ideally in a well controlled diabetes fasting glucose should be < 100 mg & pp 160 to 170 mg and hba1c% < 7, considering your age. It is clear that present medication is not helping, there is a need for upgrading the treatment. Apart from that there is a need to give a closer look at the diet and extent of daily exercise being done. Therefore, you may please contact your local physician or diabetologist and do the needful. Or else if you want online help please comeback with following information: current fasting, pp glucose levels, hba1c%, diet pattern and extent of daily exercise, bp readings and lipid profile as well as serum creatinine and urea. Then I will be able to give specific guidance and even prescribe required medication. Thanks.

In pt of pcod there is increased insulin resistance ,metformin being a insulin sensitizer drug decreases the insulin resistance, it also helps in reducing wt and in ovulation. Total dose is 1500 mg taken in 2 or 3 divided doses. Lifestyle changes for wt reduction should also be adopted.

Hello Doctor, I am taking volgitor MF forte 0.2
should I take jardiance
And what is the doges? Please suggest.
JARDIANCE can be taken along with many common type 2 diabetes medications, such as metformin, sulfonylurea, pioglitazone, and insulin. But, if you take JARDIANCE with another medicine that can cause low blood sugar, such as sulfonylurea or insulin, your risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) is higher.

For diabetes which is better: delayed release metformin or plain metformin? Thanks.

For diabetes which is better: delayed release metformin or plain metformin? Thanks.
The delayed version releases the drug more slowly and this usually eliminates the gastrointestinal problems.

Ir is immediate release and sr is sustained release formulations. Both work well but usually sr formulations have lesser gastrointestinal side effects.
