Corex Dx Syrup provides temporary relief from dry cough due to minor throat irritation. Also, it is primarily prescribed to treat cold and sneezing occurred due to seasonal allergic rhinitis or urticaria.
This medication is an antihistamine in combination with a cough suppressant that works by blocking the action of histamine in the body. It is used for relieving symptoms of sinus pressure, sinus congestion, runny nose, itching of the throat and nose, watery eyes, and sneezing due to upper respiratory infections, hay fever, and allergies.
Some adverse effects of this syrup include confusion, anxiety, restlessness, blurred vision, dry mouth, decreased coordination, and irritability. Before using this medication you should notify your doctor:
- If you are allergic to this drug
- If you are taking or have taken sodium oxybate, furazolidone or a monoamine oxidase inhibitor within the last 14 days
- If you have breathing problems, glaucoma, heart problems, liver disease, high blood pressure, etc
