Contiflo D Combipack
Contiflo D Combipack, is an alpha blocker that helps to relax the enlarged muscles of an affected prostrate and bladder. It helps to ease out the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) which includes difficulty in urination, increased need to urinate at odd times, and a weak stream.
Being a medicine for men, Contiflo D Combipack is not for use for women and children. It is important that you brief the doctor about all other medication you’re currently on, as it may lead to adverse reactions with similar medicines such as prazosin, silodosin, etc. Side effects include a drop in blood pressure that may lead to dizziness or fainting.
Contiflo D Combipack is not to be taken if you are allergic to it. Let your doctor know if you have:
- Liver
- Kidney disease
- Low blood pressure
- History of prostrate cancer.
Contiflo D Combipack is taken orally, with the dosage depending on your medical condition and response to the treatment. It is important that you take the capsule at the same time every day, thirty minutes after your meal, daily. Taking it regularly would help to increase its effectiveness.

Is It safe with alcohol?
Taking Contiflo D Combipack with alcohol may lower your blood pressure. This can cause dizziness or feeling like you might pass out, especially when getting up from a sitting or lying position. -

Contiflo D Combipack is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Does this affect kidney function?
No dose adjustment is needed for patients with the mild to moderate renal disease. Not advisable in patients with the severe renal disease. -
Does this affect liver function?
No dose adjustment is needed for patients with the mild to moderate liver disease. Not advisable in patients with the severe liver disease.

The missed dose should be taken as soon possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it's already time for your next scheduled dose. -
Are there any overdose instructions?
Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of overdose.
This medication behaves as an antagonist to alpha-1A as well as alpha-1B-adrenoceptors within the prostatic urethra, bladder neck, prostate and prostatic capsule. Alpha1-adrenoceptors subtypes such as alpha-1A, alpha-1B and alpha-1D.
Whenever you take more than one medicine, or mix it with certain foods or beverages, you"re at risk of a drug interaction.

Interaction with Medicine
- Alpha-adrenergic blockers should not be used in combination with other alpha-adrenergic blocking agents.
- Warfarin: Use caution with concomitant administration of warfarin and Contiflo D Combipack.
- Cimetidine resulted in a significant decrease (26%) in the clearance of Contiflo D Combipack which resulted in a moderate increase in Contiflo D Combipack AUC (44%); therefore, use with caution when used in combination with cimetidine (especially doses >0.4 mg).
- No dosage adjustments necessary if administered with atenolol, enalapril, or Procardia XL®.
