Clobazam is primarily prescribed for treating severe anxiety and epilepsy (seizures). It is assumed to work by suppressing the excessive and abnormal activity of the brain nerve cells.

Clobazam is generally prescribed in combination with another drug. It essentially treats a particular kind of seizure disorder called Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS). It can also be prescribed in the treatment of other problems as per the discretion of your doctor.

Clobazam belongs to the class benzodiazepines. It works by increasing the effect of GABA which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter which results by increasing the permeability of chloride ions into the neuron thus result in hyperpolarization and stabilization of neuron.
