Cause of vitamin B12 deficiency :-
1) Most common cause of vitamin B12 deficiency is pernicious anaemia. 2) This is risk for those people who follow a strict vegan diet. 3) Babies whose mums are vegetarian may have vitamin B12 deficiency. 4) Atrophic gastritis, or thinning of the stomach or small intestine. 5) Stomach ulcers
6) Surgery to remove part of the stomach or small intestine. 7) Digestive conditions such as crohn's diseases, coeliac disease, bacterial growth or a parasite. 8) Medication, including proton pump inhibitors [PPIs] for indigestion. 'Normal range of vitamin B12 for you :- 2.4 mcg (micrograms).
Rich source of vitamin B12 :- 1) Milk and dairy products 2) Some fortified Cereals and soy products 3) Meat
4) Egg 5) Salmon.
